Abstract: A liquid-application device that permits a user to selectively apply herbicide to weeds without applying the herbicide to adjacent plants. A reservoir of herbicide is mounted to a container end of an elongated tube and a wick is mounted to an opposite end. The tube has a central passage through which the liquid flows from the container end to the wick end by gravity. A valve mechanism at the wick end controls the flow of liquid out of the central passage. A wick retainer in the valve mechanism holds a wick that receives liquid released through the valve. A shroud covers the wick and the wick protrudes after the shroud is seated on a weed leaf. The shroud can be withdrawn by a mechanical connection, such as a trigger, or by simply forcing the shroud out of the way.

Abstract: An implement 1 for applying a volume of liquid to a treatment surface. The implement includes a support 3 onto which is mounted a receptacle 2, the receptacle defining a reservoir space 4 which receives the liquid. The receptacle includes a wall 6 having a working surface that is used to spread the liquid over the treatment surface. The wall 6 is resiliently deformable so in use the working surface maintains contact with the treatment surface when spreading the liquid. The implement has a specific application in applying a transdermal lotion to the axilla area of the user. A system for transdermal administration of a physiological active agent from a liquid composition and a method of conducting the transdermal administration.

Abstract: The brush applicator has a tapered inner wall and inwardly extended flange inside of a nozzle, which secures a molded or crimped brush assembly. Two edge applicators apply a substantially uniform thin layer of adhesive or glue only on the edge surface of a workpiece. A first edge applicator applies glue through an exit and a second embodiment of the edge applicator has a roller with side flanges and with a reduced portion in-between. A flat surface applicator may have plural vanes and channels inside of two outer walls to distribute adhesive to a wider flat exit. A biscuit applicator applies glue on two side surfaces of elliptical slots that are formed by biscuit cutters. The glue flows through plural vanes or plural transversely positioned openings and passes to form two opposite layers of glue. A dowel applicator applies a thin substantially uniform layer of glue on the wall of a dowel-receiving hole prior to installation of dowel pins.

The coiled applicator surface has an interior surface that defines the hollow space. The first cross-sectional area is greater than the second cross-sectional area.

Abstract: A non-drip applicator that allows easy lubrication and seasoning of barbecue grilling grates or griddle cooking surfaces in an easy, fire safe, and efficient manner is described and claimed. The tool includes a body, an applicator, and, optionally, an irrigation system. The applicator may retain a supply of cooking oil therein, or cooking oil may be transferred to the applicator via the irrigation system. The application of pressure to the applicator by pressing it against the grill cooking elements causes cooking oil to be transferred from the applicator to the cooking elements. The applicator may be rotatably connected to the tool body, allowing the user to oil the grill by rolling the applicator along the grill cooking elements.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for applying at least one product in a controlled manner onto a surface. The device comprises several layers, where a bottom layer and at least a storage layer are welded together during the manufacturing of the device in order to create a temporary liquid barrier in the storage layer. The temporary liquid barrier will form at least one closed chamber in the storage layer, where the purpose of the temporary liquid barrier is to delay the liquid running over the barrier after the storage layer has been filled with the liquid that is to be applied. This delay of the liquid running over the temporary liquid barrier will ensure that the rest of the different layers of the device can be joined together inside and around their outer peripheries, in order to create a liquid tight storage chamber for the product.

The device comprises several layers, where an impermeable top layer (1) and an impermeable bottom layer (4) will form the outer surfaces of the device, between which two outer surfaces a storage layer (3) and a contact layer (2) are arranged. The bottom layer (4), storage layer and contact layer (2) are welded together inside their edges to form a closed storage chamber (10) for the product and further being connected (6) around their common edges, where at least a part of the bottom layer (4) outside and around the closed storage chamber (10) is cut away, in order to create a device with soft edges.

Abstract: A device designed to assist with the convenient and easy application of suntan lotion to all areas of the body. The device comprises a lifelike, hand-shaped applicator that allows even and comfortable spreading of the lotion on a user's skin. Further, the applicator includes human-like features, such as wrinkles and nails, and has fingers capable of manipulation to provide a more human feeling. The device further comprises a handle with one or more hinges, allowing the device to be folded and stored in a small bag or purse. The device does not require disposable pads, and provides a user with a lotion applicator that eliminates straining or missed application regions such as the back and legs.

Abstract: A method for finishing a repaired surface is described. The method includes wiping a sealer on the repaired surface to seal microporosity in the repaired surface, the sealer consisting essentially of a mixture of polymer, at least one filler, solvent, and optionally microspheres; and applying a top coat to the sealed surface without sanding the sealed surface, the top coat being free of visible pinholes. Sealers and tools for applying surface sealers are also described.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide a cleaning pen, which includes a hollow clamping device having two clamping units able to be engaged with each other for clamping a wiping element in a bent state and being inserted into a hollow housing such that a bent portion of the wiping element juts out of the hollow housing and can be used for cleaning an object. When the bent portion is soiled or damaged, a user can conveniently and sequentially take the wiping element out from the hollow housing and hollow clamping device, and then shift the soiled or damaged portion to a position for allowing the wiping element to be clamped by the hollow clamping device again and form a new bent portion jutting out of the hollow housing, so as to effectively prevent the object from being scratched by edge of the wiping element and prolong service life thereof.

Abstract: Described herein are techniques related to a magnetic tool for cleaning one or more surfaces of a plate of magnetically permeable material, such as a window. With an implementation described herein, the tool includes a pair of magnetically attracted utensils designed to be magnetically coupled together through a window. While a user slides the utensil along an interior surface of the window, the second utensil follows the first utensil and slides along the exterior surface of the window. The second utensil is tethered to a fluid pump via a fluid-conductive hose. In this way, cleaning fluid may be delivered to the second utensil while it is on the exterior surface of the window and cleaning that surface. The dispenser may rapidly switch between different disposable cartridges.

Abstract: An architecture is presented that provides a cleaning device for vehicles, windows, pets, etc. The cleaning device comprises a mitt to be worn by a user, and a swivel extension secured in the center of the mitt. The swivel extension connects to a coil hose, which will supply water to the mitt eliminating the need for a soap/wash bucket. Specifically, a threaded connector on an end of the coil hose allows the hose to be connected to a water supply, such as a garden hose or faucet. Furthermore, the mitt has an opening in the center, wherein soap can be inserted. Once soap is inserted into the center of the mitt, the opening can be secured with hook and loop fasteners, or any other suitable fasteners. The mitt also comprises an adjustable collar, allowing the mitt to be tightened and secured to a user's hand.

Abstract: A hair highlighting applicator which comprises includes a flexible dispenser for holding a hair coloring gel therein. The flexible dispenser has a first open end and a second open end. A first twist-off cap is removably mounted to the first open end of the flexible dispenser. A prong is axially supported on the first twist-off cap for separating the hair. A second twist-off cap is removably mounted to the second open end of the flexible dispenser. A mechanism is for distributing the hair coloring gel onto the hair. The distributing mechanism is axially supported on the second twist-off cap and is in fluid communication with the flexible dispenser. When the flexible dispenser is squeezed the hair coloring gel will be forced through the distributing mechanism and applied onto the hair.

The present method provides for applying pressure to within a liquid-dispensing reservoir to force liquid from the reservoir to one substantially rigid, porous, and/or thick layer and then to another less rigid, less porous, and/or thinner layer of a multi-layered absorbent pad. The second layer of the multi-layered absorbent pad can be applied to materials for cleaning and/or hair gathering.

The fluid wets the at least one porous area of the applicator element but does not leak out of it as long as the porous area is not in contact with the surface. A porosity of the at least one porous area of the applicator element is related to the yield point of the fluid or vice versa.

Abstract: Skin care or cleansing implements are described containing a liquid, semi-solid or solid cleansing or skin treatment composition that is releasably associated with the implement. The composition is substantially nonaqueous and has a continuous and a discontinuous phase. Components of the discontinuous phase can react with each other or with water when water is blended with the nonaqueous cleansing or skin treatment composition during consumer use. Methods for treating the skin with the inventive implements are also described.

The spray head has a light weight, rigid plastic construction that can be operated with lesser quantities of cleaning liquids, and a squeegee blade secured rewardly of the spray head for simultaneously scraping and cleaning water from the floor surface directed onto the floor surface by the spray head for minimizing or eliminating subsequent cleanup.
