  • Patent number: 6036389
Abstract: A combination fluid container cap and basting brush assembly includes a cap member having a circular top wall with a continuous side wall perpendicularly depending therefrom. The cap member may be threadedly coupled with a conventional fluid container. On the top wall of the cap member is a depression having an aperture therein through which a fluid may be dispensed from the container. A lid hingedly engages the top wall of the cap member and is dimensioned to seat within the depression for covering the dispensing aperture. A brush member is removably attached to the top wall immediately adjacent the lid which may be used as a basting brush. When the lid is in an open position, it functions as a splash guard for preventing fluid from contacting the brush while being dispensed through the aperture.

  • Patent number: 6017163
Abstract: A liquid floor finish application applicator comprising a mobile unit and a wand unit. The mobile unit comprises a handle and wheels. In the cart is positioned one or more sources of floor finish, and a pump for delivering the floor finish to a length of liquid conduit. The wand comprises a distribution head typically a mop installation. The wand also comprises a spray head that can deliver the liquid floor finish to the floor. The conduit is in liquid communication with the wand. The spray head is configured to avoid dripping between finish application. The drip free head results from the aperture size of the spray aperture surface. The lengthy conduit between the cart and the wand permits ease of application by a two man team. A first man operates the cart while a second man operates the wand.

  • Patent number: 5483721
Abstract: A paint brush having a body, a handle connected to and extending outwardly from the body, a plurality of bristles arranged in a plurality of rows and extending outwardly from the body, a liquid inlet channel formed so as to extend through the body toward the plurality of bristles, and a plenum area formed in the body and connected to the liquid inlet channel. The plenum area has a plurality of outlet orifices formed therein adjacent to an end of the plurality of bristles. These outlet orifices are arranged in a rows between the plurality of bristles. The liquid inlet channel extends at an acute angle relative to a longitudinal axis of the handle. An adapter member is slidably received within the liquid inlet channel. The adapter member has a connector for attachment to an external source of liquid. The adapter member has a threaded end which tapers to an insert member. The insert member is slidably received within the liquid inlet channel.

  • Patent number: 5066157
Abstract: A brush applicator device is disclosed herein which is adapted for use with a squeeze tube. The applicator device includes an annular mounting member which has an opening extending completely therethrough. The applicator device is adapted to be threadably connected to the squeeze tube and includes a plurality of bristles connected at one end of the mounting member. An extension member extends from one end of the mounting member and terminates in the middle of the bristle members so that material squeezed into the opening from the squeeze tube travels to and is discharged in the middle of the bristle members. A wedge shaped annular sealing member is attached to the mounting member in the area of connection to the end of the squeeze tube and facilitates sealing between the mounting member and the squeeze tube. A bristle area adaptor is also disclosed for use with the brush applicator for the purpose of reducing the area of the bristles when a finer and/or precise area is needed.

  • Patent number: 4786199
Abstract: An improved instant shaving lather forming brush includes a container which is to be filled with liquid soap. The container is joined with a specially structured brush body that completes a one touch system by matching the characteristics of a brush capable of containing a large amount of water. The inherent nature of the soap will produce a massive lather after it contacts the water and is brushed on one's face, thus achieving the lather required for shaving. In particular, the present invention is applicable to a brush having long hair (above 2.5 cm). The specially structured brush body includes a flexible central guide tube and a pad plate which controls the opening and closing of the flow of liquid soap through the guide tube to outermost ends of the brush hair.

  • Patent number: 4332250
Abstract: Equine sanitation apparatus includes a supply tube, and in succession on the tube, a nozzle at its distal end, a sponge, and structure for manipulating the apparatus, whereby the nozzle and the sponge may be inserted into a body cavity and the sponge manipulated therein, and liquid may be supplied to and exhausted from the body cavity via the tube and the nozzle. The preferred apparatus includes a syringe-type instrument for supplying liquid to the tube and exhausting the liquid therefrom. The apparatus advantageously is employed in a method for cleaning an equine sheath, wherein the nozzle and the sponge are inserted in the sheath, the sheath cavity is flushed through the tube and the nozzle to loosen and remove smegma therein, and the interior surface of the sheath is scrubbed with the sponge to break up crustaceous smegma for removal thereof.

  • Patent number: 4302122
Abstract: A rotary brush for applying paint to surfaces comprises a housing, a rotatable hollow cylindrical body which bears on the cylindrical surface a plurality of brush units, motor means, passage means for supplying paint from a supply channel to the bristles of the brush units, and a number of stationary guide rings mounted rigidly in the housing and guidingly surrounding the rotatable cylindrical body. The guide rings are disposed in zones transverse to the axis of the cylindrical body and distributed over the length of the same. Each ring bears a slidable bearing means adapted for bearing, for instance with a loose wheel at its free end, against the surface to be painted, thus relieving pressure of the bristles on the surface to be painted.

  • Patent number: 4088413
Abstract: A liner brush having a central and a peripheral tuft of hairs. The central tuft projects beyond the peripheral tuft and has a cross sectional area, perpendicular to the length of the brush, which is substantially less than that of the peripheral tuft. Consequently, only the central tuft is used for drawing thin lines, whereas the peripheral tuft serves as a reservoir storing the material to be applied.
