Lever Actuator Patents (Class 403/374.5)
  • Patent number: 6908255
Abstract: A clamping flexure for use in a vacuum employs a spring-loaded shaft that pulls an object being supported against a support piece, including a mechanism, passing through the vacuum vessel, for releasing the spring tension during adjustment, the shaft being sufficiently compliant that restoring force after adjustment is less than a threshold value so that displacement of the shaft does not impress a force on the object being supported that returns it toward its position before adjustment.

  • Patent number: 6908249
Abstract: A lock for securing first and second telescoped pole sections includes a base defining a through-bore for receipt of an end of a first pole section. A neck projects from the base and a collar is connected to the neck. The collar defines an opening aligned with the bore of the base. The collar receives a second pole section that is telescoped into the first pole section. A fastener is connected to the collar and a threaded end thereof projects from the collar. A lever control member is mated with the threaded end of the fastener and is movable to selectively radially constrict the collar. The fastener is rotatable relative to the collar but is frictionally engaged with the collar to prevent its unintended rotation. As necessary, the fastener is rotated relative to the collar to adjust the amount that the lever is advanced thereon.

  • Patent number: 6860669
Abstract: The invention concerns a device for clamping a system adjusting the position of a member (30) relative to a support assembly (6). The adjustment system can adjust in height and/or in depth an automobile vehicle steering column body-tube considered as the member. The member is disposed inside two vertical uprights (11, 12) of the support assembly. The clamping axis (5) is perpendicular to the two uprights. The device comprises a bracket (20) consisting of a base (21) and two tie-rods (22, 23) which are connected by a closure and support member (56) on one (12) of the uprights, and an external clamping rod (19) mounted on the base. A locking assembly (40), an intermediate member bearing on the upright (11) and disposed between the base (21) and the locking assembly (40), and an axial retention assembly (47) for the locking assembly that is adjusted to obtain clamped and unclamped positions, are mounted on the external clamping rod (19).

  • Patent number: 6568876
Abstract: A drilling device has a carriage (1) on which a drilling member (22) can be removably mounted. In a receiving region, the carriage (1) has a tightening lever (4) that can be swiveled, with its first end area having a tightening surface (5) that interacts with a clamping surface (21) of a connection region of the drilling member (22). The second end area of the tightening lever (4) interacts with a tightening element (9) that keeps the tightening lever (4) under tension of a spring so that the drilling member (22) is firmly pressed against the carriage (1). Using the two release levers (15), the tightening element (9) can be moved into a release position in which the tightening lever (4) can be swiveled into the release position and the tightening element (9) lies against a retention surface (13) on the tightening lever (4). When a drilling member (22) is secured on the carriage (1), the tightening lever (4) is automatically swiveled into a tightened position and locked the tightening element (9).

  • Patent number: 6516684
Abstract: A locking mechanism includes a seat having four comers each having a tube foamed thereon. Four guide posts of a base of a shaper extend through one of the tubes of the four corners, respectively. Each guide post is clamped by a respective tube when in a locking position. The seat further comprises two longitudinal through-holes each for receiving a connecting rod. Each connecting rod has two ends respectively operatively connected to two of the four tubes of the seat. One of the connecting rods is moved to urge each tube to the locking position. The connecting rods are linked together to thereby allow synchronous movement of the connecting rods. Thus, when one of the connecting rods is moved, all of the lugs are moved to the locking position to thereby synchronously clamp the guide posts of the base.

  • Patent number: 6499810
Abstract: A locking quick-release bike hub skewer for securely engaging an axle of a bike includes a security lock for preventing theft. A cam member is housed within a quick-release skewer housing and is completely restrained from rotation via a tri-tumbler locking apparatus. The cam member is arranged in a combination lock type design and, therefore, cannot be rotated. In dialing in a proper lock combination, a series of locking pins which would otherwise prevent rotation of the cam about the bike's axle are aligned such that the cam member is allowed to freely spin. A pivoting lever is also provided not only for aiding in compressing the cam member against the axle, but also for removing compression of the cam member against the axle which aids in the removal of the quick-release hub once a proper lock combination has been dialed.

  • Patent number: 6267528
Abstract: A coupling structure of a variable length shaft, comprises a pipe member having an end formed with a plurality of slits elongated in the axial direction to be capable of expanding and diminishing in diameter, an intermediate shaft spline-fitted in the end of the pipe member, and a ring member fitted on an outer periphery of the end of the pipe member, the intermediate shaft being fastened by the end of the pipe member. A holder is releasably attached to an end of the ring member to expand a diameter thereof and thereby reduce a slide frictional resistance of the pipe member against the intermediate shaft.
