  • Patent number: 5286134
Abstract: A device for supporting a canopy. The device comprises (a) two joints each comprising (1) a clamp for connecting with a corresponding handle support of a baby stroller and comprising a first finger and a second finger comprising an upper recess and a lower recess and (b) a strip connecting with the second finger and comprising an upper recess and a lower recess and (b) two canopy shelves each comprising (1) a first member for supporting the canopy and (2) a second member connecting with the long member at an angle and comprising two sides respectively comprising two protrusions. The second member of the canopy shelf can be moved past the strip so that the protrusions engage in the recesses and so that the canopy shelf is retained in an upper position for shielding occupants. The clamp also has a protrusion projecting therefrom between the fingers and penetrating the handle support, for restraining the device from rotating about and sliding along the handle supports.

  • Patent number: 5161909
Abstract: A packaging clip for maintaining a first side rail of a ladder adjacent a second side rail of a ladder. The clip comprises a first portion for removably holding the first side rail and a second portion for removably holding the second side rail. The clip also is comprised of a support element that is disposed such that it is common with the first portion and the second portion. In a preferred embodiment, the first portion includes a first opening for removably receiving the first side rail, and the second portion includes a second opening for removably receiving the second side rail. When the first side rail is inserted into the first opening of the first portion, and the second side rail is inserted into the second opening of the second portion, the clip limits and essentially eliminates the movement of the first side rail relative to the second side rail with respect to normal forces experienced during a given application.

  • Patent number: 4354299
Abstract: Clamp for fastening grapevines and other fruit-bearing shrubs on bracing wires comprising a detent at one end of the clamp to engage the bracing wire, a hook at the other end of the clamp to engage the bracing wire and an intermediate piece between the detent and the hook. The intermediate piece is formed of an elastic plastic and includes two arms which form therebetween an included obtuse angle. The detent and the hook project perpendicularly from the plane formed by the two arms. The hook and the detent are arranged on the same side of the plane formed by the two arms, and the arm to which the detent is connected lie in a common plane.

  • Patent number: 4309120
Abstract: A compound clamp having two crossed resilient yokes formed from an integral metal piece. The yokes comprise a flat base section for the two yokes, two long resilient and apertured arms projecting from a first set of opposite sides of the base section to define a first generally concave long yoke configuration, and two short resilient and apertured arms projecting from a second set of opposite sides of the base section to define a second generally concave short yoke configuration. The insertion of a first elongated element through the apertures of the long yoke and insertion of a second elongated element through the apertures of the short yoke effects the adjustable cross clamping of the two elongated elements.

  • Patent number: 4243343
Abstract: A connector particularly for a fencing system provided as a resilient shaped strip member with a curved longitudinal axis and including a pair of holes which may be aligned by compression of the strip member, and through which holes a fence post may be positioned. The ends of the strip member when so positioned on the post are juxtaposed, and a second fence member (being a fence wire etc.) may be passed there-between. The connector is positioned on the fence post by compression and provides a connection to the second fence member when said member is accommodated between the fence post and the juxtaposed ends of the said connector.

  • Patent number: 4240184
Abstract: A clamp includes a flexible member that can be wrapped round a cable and secured by means of end-fittings, integral with the flexible member or permanently attached to it. A pair of faying surfaces (one on each end-fitting) engage one another when the clamp is wrapped round a cable with any circumference in a working range in relative positions that vary (by displacement in the plane normal to the cable axis) with the circumference within that range.

  • Patent number: 4227594
Abstract: A brake assembly includes a backing plate, a pair of brake shoes slidably mounted on the backing plate, and a wheel cylinder supported on the backing plate between contiguous ends of the shoes. A retaining clip attaches the wheel cylinder to the backing plate. The retaining clip includes a base and a pair of opposed tabs extending from the base. One portion of each tab resiliently and releasably attaches the clip to the backing plate. Another portion of each tab projects into a recess in the wheel cylinder to resiliently and releasably retain the wheel cylinder in a mounted position on the backing plate. The clip and the wheel cylinder are capable of being attached to the backing plate from the same side of the backing plate.

  • Patent number: 4102587
Abstract: An angle-shaped support member consists of a unitary element formed into a pair of legs extending normally to one another and interconnected at their adjacent ends by an outwardly extending rectangularly shaped box section. The opposite ends of the legs from the box section each have an outwardly directed flange. The flanges and walls of the box section have axially aligned openings through which bars can be fitted. The openings in the flanges and walls are offset laterally relative to one another to avoid any interference between the bars which extend through them.
