Including Removal And Redepositing Means Patents (Class 404/91)
  • Patent number: 4037981
Abstract: The invention relates to a machine for cutting away or peeling off road surfaces including a conveyor machinery transporting the cut away or peeled off material from the road level to a transportation means, said conveyor machinery being tiltingly hinged, at one of its ends, around a substantially perpendicular axis and is swingable from a transport position into an operating position in which it can vertically adjustably be locked. The conveyor machinery is secured, at one of its ends, to a support having bushes at its ends which are vertically adjustably arranged on two parallel guide spars, said guide spars constituting, together with two crossbars secured to the ends thereof, a frame which is tiltingly hinged around the axis of one of said guide spars and which is releasably, and if necessary vertically adjustably, connected with the chassis within the range of the other of said guide spars.

  • Patent number: 4027428
Abstract: Natural soil is formed into clods ranging in size from a minimum dimension of about 5 mm to a maximum dimension of about 10 cm, and a hydrophobic agent is applied to the surface of the clods to increase the contact angle of water on the exposed grain surfaces of the clods to an angle greater than 90.degree., which makes the clods water repellent. The clods thus treated are employed to form the top layer of soil. The treated clods conserve soil water by allowing maximal intake of water and by constituting a barrier which reduces water evaporation. Such soil water conservation together with other advantages enable farming on land in regions which could never successfully be farmed before. An apparatus for forming and treating the clods has a lifting device for lifting the top layer of soil of a field to a screening device for breaking up the soil to have a maximum dimension of about 10 cm and to drop the broken up soil back to the field.

  • Patent number: 4019268
Abstract: This invention is directed to an apparatus for compacting snow for skiing and snowmobiling. It includes an elongated snow compacting member with means which permit its ends to move upwardly and downwardly so that when one end contacts an elevated snow surface that end automatically moves upwardly to substantially equalize the p.s.i. exerted by the snow compacting member against the snow which is being compacted. It also includes snow compacting wings which extend outwardly from and are pivotally secured to the central snow compacting section of the snow compactor and power means for rotating the wings upwardly. The outer ends of the wings are secured to the inner ends by shear bolts or pins so that when an outer end contacts a rigid object it falls away and is not damaged. Means is provided for adjusting the angle of attack of the bottom wall of the snow compacting element to the surface of the snow to vary the pressure exerted upon it.

  • Patent number: 4011023
Abstract: A machine for recycling macadam highway pavement is disclosed. A pickup device removes crumbled pavement material from a roadbed site, and heaters heat the material as it passes through the machine. An applicator applies liquid asphalt to the material to form a rejuvenated mix. Simultaneously, roadbed heaters heat the roadbed site, and an applicator applies liquid asphalt. A spreader spreads the mix on the roadbed site, and adjustable screeds preliminarily form the spread mix for final working into a finished road.
