Biased Rollers Or Slides Patents (Class 417/477.7)
  • Patent number: 6626867
Abstract: An implantable drug infusion device includes a pump tube for holding a liquid to be pumped. A race is configured to support the tube. A roller assembly is configured to compress the tube against the race at one or more points along the path, and the roller assembly includes at least one roller. A tube guide is operably connected to the roller assembly to align the pump tube with respect to a corresponding roller.

  • Publication number: 20030156957
Abstract: A roller pump including a stator, a rotor assembly including a rotor hub, a first roller slide and a second roller slide slidingly disposed within the rotor hub, with each of the roller slides supporting a roller. At least one adjustable bushing is mounted within at least one of the roller slides. The roller slide includes a recess and the at least one adjustable bushing is at least partially disposed within the recess. The at least one adjustable bushing includes a bushing member and a spring member, the bushing member and the spring member being disposed within the recess in the roller slide.

  • Patent number: 6599106
Abstract: In a tube pump, a rotor is fixed to a drive shaft so as to rotate therewith. A tube pressing member is swingable in an axial direction of the drive shaft. A swinging member swings the tube pressing member in accordance with the rotation of the rotor. An upper outer face of a tube is fixed to a lower portion of the tube pressing member. A lower outer face of the tube is fixed to a fixing member. The tube is forcibly pressed and expanded in accordance with the swing motion of the tube pressing member, while the pressed/expanded part is shifted in an extending direction.

  • Patent number: 6551080
Abstract: A peristaltic fluid pump having a suction side and a pumping side. The pump includes a pump housing having a mainly arcuate support surface, a flexible tube extending along this surface, a rotor having two opposite rollers for during operation rolling over the flexible tube along an entrance section where the tube is successively compressed, a pumping section extending across an angle of an arc of less than 180°, and an exit section where the compression successively ends, and a motor for during operation making the rotor rotate. The arcuate support surface is shaped in such a way that the rearmost and foremost rollers do not operate in synchronous phase opposition during their passage of the entrance and exit section. The peristaltic fluid pump is capable of pumping a fluid with less pressure difference and compressive pulsations in the fluid than previously known, making it especially suitable for pumping a patient's blood through a dialyzer.

  • Patent number: 6494693
Abstract: An improved peristaltic pump using a pumptube comprising a single tube of a relatively rigid and hard fluoroplastic material, preferably relatively rigid and hard polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), and a roller strap located between the pressure rollers of the peristaltic pump and the pumptube, is provided. The roller strap prevents direct contact between the pressure rollers of the peristaltic pump and the pumping section of the pumptube. The pumping section of the pumptube is formed or shaped into a flattened, oval-like shape which approximately conforms to the pumptube passageway in the peristaltic pump. The pressure rollers contact the roller strap and then compress the flattened side of the pumptube and, thereby, effecting transport or pumping of the fluid. The use of the strap prevents excessive tube expansion at the output back-pressure, thereby increasing the lifetime of the pumptube.

  • Patent number: 6203296
Abstract: A miniature peristaltic pump includes a rotor with three turning rollers, a support piece with a rounded portion arranged substantially concentric to the rotor and against which, when operating, the rollers are brought to compress a flexible tubing connected to a reservoir of solution to push it outwards and for automatically compensating positional deviations between the roller and the support piece. Each roller has a substantially cylindrical body and a shaft on which the body is rotatably mounted. The ends of the roller shafts are located in oblong slots radially recessed in the rotor. The compensating device includes two springs arranged at the respective ends of the shafts and have a central port concentric to the rotor and three curved spring arms, one for each roller, with one end connected to the central part and the other end bearing on the corresponding end of a roller shaft to push it outwards and thus enable it to exert a substantially constant force of pressure.
