Patent number: 11466946Abstract: A small lightweight weapon system for integration into an unmanned aerial vehicle comprises a weapon operating group which utilizes blowback operation to fire a full-powered centerfire rifle ammunition. An operating rod of the weapon operating group has an axis of translation offset from the longitudinal axis of the barrel thereby creating a moment couple on the system. A motor assembly controls the operation of the weapon operating group. Through a gear train, actuation of the motor assembly lifts a sear against a return torsion spring, which holds the operating group back when not firing. The gear train comprises a one way flywheel disconnect to increase the torque of the direct current motor and overcome the force of the torsion spring. Intelligent motor commutation and burst control are achieved through an encoder and software package.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 2021Date of Patent: October 11, 2022Assignee: The United States of America as Represented by the Secretary of the ArmyInventors: Alex Smith, Tim Brosseau, Alex Michlin

Patent number: 9625228Abstract: A multi-barrel firearm apparatus to be worn on the user's forearm generally having a firearm body that includes a first magazine in firing communication with a first firearm, and a second magazine in firing communications with a second firearm. The firearm body defines a spacing between the first firearm and the second firearm such that the first firearm is not in direct physical communication with the second firearm. The apparatus further includes a communications interface between an internal triggering assembly of each of said first and second firearms and the firearm apparatus' external triggering.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2015Date of Patent: April 18, 2017Inventor: Paul Jacob Hayden

Patent number: 8347538Abstract: A firearm apparatus to be worn on the user's forearm generally having a firearm body that includes a magazine pack and a power source box that extend on opposite sides of the firearm body for supporting the firearm on the wearer's forearm. The combination of a base surface of the gun body with the magazine pack and the power source box further defines an open sleeve that conforms to the wearer's forearm with first and second fastener material straps for securing the user's forearm for operation of the firearm apparatus. The gun body has an electrical wire that is electrically connected to the firearm's internal triggering assembly and the firearm's external triggering means. The electrical wire includes a first connect and a second connect such that the firearm apparatus is operable by touching the first connect with the second connect in order to complete the electrical circuit.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2011Date of Patent: January 8, 2013Inventor: Paul Jacob Hayden

Patent number: 8091264Abstract: A novel firearm includes an underarm gun stock. The stock of the firearm is to be positioned under the forearm of the firearm user. Alternatively, the firearm has no underarm stock, but the action and barrel of the firearm are disposed beneath the forearm or the wrist of the user. The novel firearms promote a more steady shot with a single hand, the ability to support heavier firepower in a more compact package, and other advantages not found in prior art handguns or rifles.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 2009Date of Patent: January 10, 2012Inventor: Samuel Dean Goertz

Publication number: 20080115660Abstract: A marker fired by commands from a remote location for hunting games such as a paintball gun or a laser gun used in laser tag. The marker is controller by a variety of control systems, both open loop and closed loop. Such control systems allow remote error detection and correction of the projectiles of the markers.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 21, 2005Publication date: May 22, 2008Inventor: Edward Hensel

Patent number: 6408731Abstract: The disrupter (16) includes an elongated hollow barrel (18) having a cylindrical inner chamber (20), a closed rear (26) end and an opened front end (22), the latter closed with a front frangible seal (38). A channel member (46) partly surrounds an intermediate portion of the barrel, and is securely attached thereto. A pair of recoil channels (76, 78) extend from the barrel inner chamber, radially outwardly and rearwardly through the barrel and the channel member, and are linked to rearwardly oriented recoil tubes (52, 54) which have opened rear end portions (60, 62) closed with rear frangible seals (64, 66). In use, a cartridge (90) including an explosive charge (88) is to be inserted in the barrel inner chamber at its rear end, and the barrel, recoil channels and recoil tubes (52, 54) are to be filled with water. The frangible seals (38, 64, 66) prevent the water from leaking out of the disrupter while it is positioned near a bomb to be deactivated.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 2000Date of Patent: June 25, 2002Assignee: Proparms Ltd.Inventor: Josef Elsener
