Continuous flow designs receive input water, mix the water with reactants then pass the solution between electrodes to electrochemically activate the solution. Using a metal halide salt, such as NaCl with citric acid may produce a sanitizer or disinfectant. Using a metal carbonate salt, such as K2CO3, as the reactant may result in a cleaning or degreasing solution. Another implementation is that of an immersion wand that can be placed in a reservoir to produce the ECA product solution.

  • Patent number: 8691289
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of treating an outer eye disorder selected from a cataract, neovascularization, keratitis, epithelium deficiency, or chronic opacity, by administering to the eye a composition comprising acidic electrolytic water. The present invention also relates to a stable acidic electrolyzed oxidizing water characterized by low conductivity, the presence of dissolved chlorine gas (Cl2), hypochlorous acid (HOCl) and chloride ions (Cl?), and by the presence of negligible quantities of hypochlorite ion (OCl?).

  • Patent number: 8673297
Abstract: This invention relates to an improved chlorine dioxide solution or liquid mixture containing a phosphate and, as well, as to a composition for forming the chlorine dioxide and phosphate liquid mixture. This improved chlorine dioxide solution is used to clean and/or sanitize without causing corrosion. The corrosion nature of the chlorine dioxide solution is lessened due to the addition of phosphate to the composition.

  • Publication number: 20140050774
Abstract: The wound treatment therapy deactivates pathogenic microorganisms within the wound environment without disrupting the cell walls. The wound treatment therapy of this invention combines the application of stabilized hypochlorous acid compound with the application of a hydrophobic wound dressing. The application of hypochlorous acid provides the initial anti-microbial agent, which disrupts and eradicates biofilm, as well as, deactivates the harmful pathogenic organisms within the wound environment. The application of the hydrophobic wound dressing, which is designed to bind harmful hydrophobic microorganisms and toxins, provides a mechanical vehicle for physically removing deactivated hydrophobic microorganisms form the wound environment with each dressing change.
