Abstract: A water-in-oil type emulsion with a highly moisturizing effect on the skin has good emulsion stability and achieves a good feeling in use as a massage cream when a large amount of perfume is blended. The water-in-oil type emulsion includes the following components: (A) glyceryl monooleate, (B) a surfactant having branched chains in an alkyl group, (C) an aqueous component, (D) an oil component, and (E) a perfume component, Conditions (1) and (2) are met by the emulsion. Condition (1): the ratio of the sum of glyceryl monooleate (component (A)) and the surfactant having branched chains in an alkyl group (component (B)) with respect to a total composition is from 5 to 10% by mass. Condition (2): the ratio of perfume component (component (E)) with respect to the total composition is 0.3% by mass or more.

  • Patent number: 7722899
Abstract: A surface-treated powder powder which is surface-treated with an acrylic/silicone copolymer having at least one hydrolyzable silyl group in the molecule, and a cosmetic material containing this powder. The surface-treated powder of this invention preferably contains 0.1-30 wt parts of the acrylic/silicone copolymer relative to 100 wt parts of the powder prior to surface treatment. The acrylic/silicone copolymer preferably comprises a trunk polymer comprising an acrylic polymer, and a branched polymer comprising an organic polysiloxane. The surface activity of the surface-treated powder of this invention is very well blocked, and it has excellent water resistance and sebum resistance. In addition, the cosmetic material of this invention containing this surface-treated powder has good cosmetic lasting properties, and is highly stable over time.

Abstract: Compositions of the present invention comprise from about 40-99% of an aqueous suspension of silicone elastomer powder in a cosmetically acceptable vehicle. The compositions are useful as skin exfoliants when mechanical agitation is supplied, for example by rubbing with a hand. After exfoliation, little or no film or residue remains on the skin and washing the treated area is optional. The cosmetically acceptable vehicle may comprise a wide range of beneficial ingredients, cosmetic or dermatological actives and additives. The present invention also encompasses a method of exfoliating skin in need of such treatment.

Abstract: A method for making up a support includes application to the support of at least (a) magnetic substances exhibiting a non-zero magnetic susceptibility, (b) one or more compounds X, (c) one of more compounds Y, with at least one of the compounds X and Y being a silicone compound and the compounds Y and X being capable of reacting together by a hydro silylation reaction in the presence of a catalyst, when they are brought into contact with one another, and (d) at least one catalyst. Application of (a), (b), (c) and (d) may be simultaneous or sequential in any order. Exposure to a magnetic field of at least a portion of the magnetic substances takes place before the interaction between the compounds X and Y is complete.
