Abstract: {Problem}The exact method with small time-lag of detecting injection pressure for controlling pressure in an electric-motor driven injection molding machine without using a pressure detector has been asked for because the pressure detector is very expensive, necessitates troublesome works for mounting, an electric protection against noise and the works for zero-point and span adjustings and causes a complicate mechanical structure. {Solution}The present invention uses a high-gain observer which contains the discrete-time arithmetic expressions derived from a mathematical model of an injection and pressure application mechanism in an electric-motor driven injection molding machine consisting of a state equation and an output equation and outputs an estimate of injection pressure, which is one of the state variables of the above state equation, by using an injection velocity signal and a servomotor current demand signal or actual motor current signal as inputs.

Abstract: A compression system includes a compression device and a controller. A treated material is pressed longitudinally through a compression chamber by simultaneously applying a lateral pressure and a two-dimensional cross-section compression which includes a pressure applied in a direction traverse to a direction of transport and a pressure applied in a direction parallel to the direction of transport. The controller controls the two-dimensional cross-section compression applied to the treated material such that, during compression, liquids in the treated material migrate to the outer surface of the treated material upon reaching the outlet orifice.

  • Patent number: 8747092
Abstract: The invention disclosed apparatuses and methods to do nanoimprint lithography using a deformable mold. Generally, the apparatus has a chamber with a transparent section on its top wall, which is capable of vacuuming and pressurizing. The deformable mold fixed firmly onto a hollow mold holder around its full periphery is attached to top inner surface of the chamber and positioned underneath the transparent section. The central area of the mold is freely accessible from underneath through the opening of the mold holder. An enclosed volume referring to mold mini-chamber is formed between the mold/holder and top wall of the chamber. Inside chamber, a stage assembly is installed. A chuck to vacuumly hold a substrate is mounted on top of the stage assembly. At beginning of the imprinting, the substrate with a layer of resist is positioned underneath the mold at a predetermined gap between them. Then, the substrate is moved up to contact with the mold either under vacuum or under atmosphere.

Abstract: A movable unit in an injection molding machine is started to operate and the current physical quantity and the current time (or current position of the movable unit) are detected. The current physical quantity is stored as a reference physical quantity in association with the elapsed time of operation of the movable unit (or position of the movable unit). A deviation of the current physical quantity from the reference physical quantity is calculated and stored, a distribution index value is then calculated from the physical quantity deviations in the first to n-th cycles, and a threshold value is determined from the distribution index value. When the deviation exceeds the threshold value, alarm processing is performed.
