  • Publication number: 20120086144
Abstract: An apparatus for forming molded edges on opposite sides of a load bearing surface including a stretching assembly integrated into a molding assembly. The stretching assembly may include localized fabric clamps that leave the center region of the fabric free (e.g. not clamped) through the process. The clamps may be arranged so that once extended to stretch the fabric, the fabric is held by the clamps in the appropriate position for molding. The fabric may be held so that opposed edges terminate in the mold cavities. The mold parts may cooperatively define two spaced apart mold cavities, and may include a mold pocket to provide space to store excess fabric. The fabric may be held against the surface of the mold cavity during the molding process, for example, using hold-down pins and special gate configurations. The molding apparatus may include an alternative stretching assembly configured to provide different amounts of stretch to different portions of the fabric blank.

Abstract: A set of dies for embossing or debossing is disclosed. The set has a female die (4, 80) and a male die (7, 67) each which has a steel backing plate (5, 47, 75). One of the dies is strongly magnetically attracted to a base plate (1, 68) which results in a weak magnetic attraction between the two dies (4, 7 or 67, 80). The weak magnetic attraction enables the set of dies to be substantially automatically self-aligning. Furthermore, such a set of dies can be used with a cutting and creasing die (50) to permit embossing or debossing simultaneously with cutting and/or folding during the same run.

Abstract: The present invention is aimed at providing a sintered magnet production system that can prevent the influences of a leaking magnetic field in an orienting process. A sintered magnet production system according to the present invention has a filling means 11 for filling an alloy powder into a filling/sintering container, a sintering means 13 for sintering the alloy powder, and an orienting means 12 with an air-core coil for producing a magnetic field for orienting the alloy powder in the filling/sintering container after the filling process and before the sintering process, the axis of the air-core coil being displaced from a straight line connecting the filling means 11 and the sintering means 13. The magnetic field leaking from the orienting means 12 is strongest on the extended line of the axis of the air-core coil and relatively weak in the direction perpendicular to the extended line.
