Abstract: Security devices for protecting ICs from backside security attacks. A security device includes an N? well formed in a substrate, a P+ center disposed in the central region of the N? well, and a P+ ring surrounding the N? well. To prevent latchup, a pair of inner and outer N+ rings is formed in the N? well. When a current source is applied to the P+ center, the current flows through a portion of the substrate and is picked up by the P+ ring. When an attacker mills the substrate or makes a trench in the substrate, the resistance of the substrate changes. By monitoring the voltage difference between the P+ center and P+ ring, the attempt to attack the die can be detected.

  • Patent number: 9199868
Abstract: Isopipes (13) for making a glass or a glass-ceramic using a fusion process are provided. The isopipes are made from an alumina material which has a higher static fatigue than existing alumina materials intended for use as isopipes. In particular, the alumina materials have times-to-failure (static fatigues) of greater than one hour at 1200° C. at an applied stress of 10,000 psi. These high levels of static fatigue allow alumina isopipes to replace zircon isopipes in the manufacture of high performance glass sheets by the fusion process, including glass sheets which are incompatible with zircon isopipes but compatible with alumina isopipes, e.g., chip and scratch resistant glass sheets which have high alkali contents.

Abstract: A weighted tarp for providing a waterproof covering that can remain in position without the need for cables, bungee cords, external weights, or other fasteners. The tarp includes a multi-layer sheet having a first and second layer of waterproof or water-resistant material. The first and second layers are coextensive and are preferably secured to one another via an adhesive. A plurality of weights is disposed between the first and second sheets. The weights are preferably flat disks and are arranged in a grid, such that the weights are spaced at fixed intervals. The weights help to maintain the tarp in a desired position without the need for additional fasteners, and the weights serve to evenly distribute the weight of the tarp. The tarp includes grommets on the perimeter or corners thereof, allowing the user to further secure the tarp using cables, if so desired.
