  • Patent number: 8871327
Abstract: A camouflage structure, capable of altering its appearance, comprises a camouflage graphic layer and a color-changing layer disposed on the camouflage graphic layer. Originally, the camouflage structure presents a first color state. After the color-changing layer changes the color by driving methods, the camouflage structure presents a second color state. For example, a transparent or semi-transparent color-changing layer able to reflect or emitting red light could be disposed on the woodland camouflage graphic layer, which allows for the overall appearance to change from the greenish woodland camouflage to the brownish desert camouflage. Alternatively, the camouflage structure could comprise a greenish camouflage graphic layer made of material with red-shift characteristics, which means the greenish camouflage graphic layer consists of different colors of chromic materials with reversible red-shift characteristics.

Abstract: A multi-layer seal material comprising a layer of paper or pulp, next to a layer of polymer, next to a layer of metal foil, next to a layer of adhesive polymer, the seal containing micro-holes allowing the seal to be breathable. A method of making a sealed container is also described by forming the multi-layer seal material described above, using laser drilling to generate the micro-holes in the seal material, placing the adhesive polymer layer of the multi-layer seal material onto a container filled with product material, heating the seal material to bond the seal to the container, thereby forming a product filled container having a breathable seal.

  • Publication number: 20140212624
Abstract: A fiber-reinforced resin member is provided in which a mounting hole is formed in a plate material reinforced by embedding a fiber in a thermosetting resin, and another member is fixed to the fiber-reinforced resin member (11) by using a securing member fixed into the mounting hole. An insert member having the mounting hole formed therein is connected to an opening formed in the plate material. The insert member is formed into a tubular shape by impregnating a fiber with a thermosetting resin, and hot pressed together with the plate material by using a mold. Such arrangement does not require drilling the mounting hole in a fiber-reinforced resin member, and also does not require strictly aligning the position of the opening of the plate material with respect to a mounting hole molding pin of the mold when setting the uncured plate material in an interior of the mold.

Abstract: A dynamic insulation system suitable for deployment within an envelope or facade of a building or habitable construction is described. The system comprises one or more layers of insulation and one or more void space forming elements (5,12b). The void space forming element comprises a panel attachment means (6) for connecting this element to a layer of insulation and a spacer element (9) that provides a means for defining at least one void space within the envelope or facade to facilitate the uniform, bi-directional, actively or passively driven flow of ventilation air through the void space. The resultant dynamic insulation systems can be made directly from any commonly available insulation sheet material, or combination of materials. This reduces the costs of the system without sacrificing performance or versatility. The system can be cut to any dimension, and joined together without loss of functionality to maximise insulation coverage of the building envelope or facade.
