Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a heat-emitting composition coated on the surface of a heat-resistant ceramic ware and emitting heat by absorbing microwaves, which includes a heat-emitting metal oxide material and a binding material, a transfer paper for a ceramic ware including same, a far-infrared-emitting ceramic ware including same, and a method for preparing same. The heat-emitting composition coated on the surface of the ceramic ware absorbs microwaves from a microwave oven and emits heat and far-infrared light, such that food can be cooked evenly in short time by the emitted far-infrared light without burning or drying on the food surface. Further, the far-infrared-emitting ceramic ware can be used as a far-infrared-emitting medical device for fomentation. Also, because of superior heat resistance, the far-infrared-emitting ceramic ware of the present disclosure can be directly heated. Accordingly, cooking can be performed using various means such as gas stove, oven, etc.

Abstract: In the tube manufacturing industry, five general methodologies for manufacturing tubes are known at this time. The first is under an extrusion of molten metal by means of a press. The second is by means of a rotary lamination system known as “Piercing” or “Mannesmann”. The third is the welded pre-tube that is obtained from a laminated strip. The fourth, known as the “Cast & Roll” system, whereby a pre-tube, obtained directly from the melting, is laminated by a triple roller system. Finally, the innovative manner whereby a continuous vertical casting manufactures pre-tubes continuously, directly from the melt. The four first systems are widely used in the industry to manufacture what is known as a “pre-tube” that usually has a diameter of 60 mm or higher, which we shall name “old pre-tube”. Different processes are applied to that old pre-tube to bring it to smaller diameters and thicknesses finally required by the market.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods for making an enclosure having a three-dimensionally shaped glass wall portion comprising an initial step of shaping a glass charge into a preform having a preform cross-section corresponding in shape to a smaller cross-sectional shape for the three-dimensional glass wall portion. At least a surface portion of the preform is then finished if necessary to remove any visible optical surface defects therefrom and/or to meet geometric tolerances, and the preform is drawn along an elongation axis perpendicular to the preform cross-section to reduce or draw down the preform in size to the smaller cross-sectional shape for the three dimensional glass wall portion. The smaller cross-sectional shape or sections thereof are then tempered to provide a strengthened glass wall portion having a compressively stressed surface layer thereon.

Abstract: A glass article having an engineered stress profile. The central or core region of the glass is in compression and the surface or outer region of the glass is either under neutral stress or in compression. The outer surface region and the core region are separated by an intermediate region that is under tension. A flaw that penetrates the outer region in compression will propagate in the underlying tensile intermediate layer, but will not penetrate though the compressive core region of the glass. The compressive core region prevents flaws from penetrating through the thickness of the glass.
