Abstract: The present subject matter provides an adhesive article having a release agent or liner that is free of silicon-containing and fluorine-containing material, and related methods of adhering a backing material of the adhesive article to a substrate. The adhesive article utilizes an amorphous polyvinyl alcohol layer that facilitates removal of an optional release liner from an adhesive layer. Upon removal of the release liner, the amorphous polyvinyl alcohol layer remains disposed on the adhesive layer. A method of adhering the backing material to a substrate includes dissolving the amorphous polyvinyl alcohol layer and disposing the backing material to a substrate. During dissolution of the amorphous polyvinyl alcohol layer, a weak, temporary bond is formed between the substrate and the backing material. When the amorphous polyvinyl alcohol layer substantially dissolves and dries, the adhesive layer is exposed and forms a permanent bond with the substrate.

The adhesive stack may allow for replacement of the component by an authorized person applying an appropriate and deliberate force. The adhesive stack may aid in identifying components replaced by an unauthorized person.

Abstract: The present invention provides a double-sided adhesive tape in which the adhesive strength between a substrate and each adhesive layer is high and the rupture of the substrate is unlikely to occur. Also, the present invention is a method for producing a double-sided adhesive tape having a polytetrafluoroethylene porous film substrate and adhesive layers formed respectively on both sides of the substrate. The method includes the following steps (1) to (4) in order: (1) the step of putting an adhesive composition on a first release liner; (2) the step of bonding the first release liner on which the adhesive composition has been put to one main surface of the polytetrafluoroethylene porous film substrate; (3) the step of forming a first adhesive layer by heating the substrate to which the first release liner has been bonded; and (4) the step of providing a second adhesive layer on another main surface of the substrate, a part of an adhesive in the second adhesive layer being penetrated into the substrate.

Abstract: A part having foam tape integrated into a base component. The base component of the part is a body side molding which is attached to a vehicle using an adhesive. More specifically, the part includes a foam layer integrally formed with the body side molding such that a first side of the foam layer is formed with the body side molding, and an adhesive layer attached to a second side of the foam layer. A release film material is selectively attached to the adhesive layer such that the adhesive layer is disposed between the release film material and the foam layer. The release film material is able to be removed from the adhesive layer, and the body side molding is attached to a vehicle using the adhesive layer. The body side molding is used to protect the vehicle, as well as provide an improvement in the appearance of the vehicle.

Abstract: A reclosable film structure for a package is disclosed, in particular a reclosable lap seal, comprising a multiple layer film with an interior pressure sensitive adhesive layer, and methods of manufacture thereof. The pressure sensitive adhesive layer is positioned between a first and a third layer on either side of the pressure sensitive adhesive layer and is continuous throughout the package. The package is heat sealed at an open end to initially close the package by folding over an outer lap seal segment onto an inner lap seal segment and heat-sealing together. Upon opening the package at the lap seal, the package delaminates between the first and second layers along one of the lap seal segments, thus exposing the pressure sensitive adhesive layer to facilitate reclosing the package, oriented away from the package interior and away from the food removal path to maintain the adhesion strength by avoiding food contact.
