Sheet Facing And Longitudinally Noncoextensive With Web Or Other Sheet Patents (Class 428/77)
  • Patent number: 6797364
Abstract: A composite panel having a non-adhesion portion is mounted on a stationary table and a bending table and is fixed thereto by vacuum adsorption pads. An upper portion bending table is mounted on a face sheet providing the non-adhesion portion. The face sheet is secured using the vacuum adsorption pad on the bending table. The bending table is rotated, so that the face sheet is bent. The center core member is cut with a V-shape. An adhesion agent is coated. Next, by rotating the lower bending table, the other face sheet and the center core member are bent so that the core member is adhered to the upper face sheet. Without causing a gap between a face sheet and a center core member and a partial contact, an integral bending processing of a flat sheet shape composite panel can be realized. In addition to this, to assurance adequate strength in a bending processing portion of the composite panel, it is unnecessary to provide a separate member and the like.

  • Patent number: 6484463
Abstract: A resilient pre-cut fibrous insulation blanket includes first and second insulation blankets. The blankets each have a first major surface with one or more longitudinally extending cuts in the surface that are spaced inwardly from lateral edges of the surface and spaced apart from each other. The cuts only partially sever the blankets to form separable connectors in the blankets that join adjacent blanket sections formed by the cuts. The first major surfaces of the blankets are bonded to each other, with the cuts in the major surfaces of the blankets aligned longitudinally, to form a batt with longitudinally extending batt sections joined by the separable connectors in the blankets whereby the batt can be handled as a unit or one or more batt sections can be separated from the remainder of the batt by hand to form a batt of lesser width.

  • Patent number: 6485820
Abstract: A durable belt device includes an outer layer made out of a rubber based material and an inner layer that includes at least one reinforcing ply of tear-resistant scrim fabric located between opposed surfaces thereof and a multiplicity of needle fibers that run substantially transversely and perpendicularly through the reinforcing ply and protrude out from at least one surface of the inner layer. A bonding agent forms an intermediate layer that secures the outer layer to the one surface of the inner layer such that the fibers at least partially extend therein.

  • Patent number: 6475591
Abstract: The method and apparatus of the present invention prevents the formation of pin-holes during stretching of strip laminates in the cross machine direction. Pin-holes are prevented by creating slack areas along the length of the web where the edges of the non-woven strips meet with the polymer film, pressing the slack areas into the interdigital stretching rollers without stretching the slack areas, and stretching the remainder of the web in a typical manner. The slack regions are formed prior to interdigitation by, for example, formation of a furrow, a fold or a corrugation.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a semiconductor substrate can effectively prevent a chipping phenomenon and the production of debris from occurring in part of the insulation layer and the semiconductor by removing a outer peripheral portion of the semiconductor substrate so as to make the outer peripheral extremity of the insulation layer to be located between the outer peripheral extremity of the semiconductor layer and that of the support member and hence the semiconductor layer and the insulation layer produce a stepped profile.

  • Publication number: 20020094407
Abstract: In a method for making laminated glass, a sheet includes two glass substrates with an interlayer sheet between them. This sheet includes a polymer based film provided on one of the surfaces with a thin functional layer. The sheet is cut out in dimensions substantially identical to or greater than one of the glass substrates. The sheet is slit on at least the thickness of the film provided with the functional layer so as to delimit at least a peripheral zone of the film located between the slitting line and its edge. The interlayer sheet is assembled between the glass substrates. The peripheral zone is then detached by mechanical traction to transform the laminated glass sheet.

  • Patent number: 6399172
Abstract: A hinged panel which is used as the back-panel of ready-to-assemble furniture. A strip of tape is adhered to one side of a piece of hardboard or similar board of material such as medium density fiberboard or high density fiberboard. The hardboard is die cut along a taped hinge line while the tape is present and remains uncut. Further, one or more knock-out areas are die cut through the entire thickness of the hinged hardboard panel at desired locations on the hinged hardboard panel to allow passage of power cords or other wires or cables, or to allow extension of objects. The hinged panel can be folded at the hinge line and put into a small container with other parts of ready-to-assemble furniture for shipment. Since the hinged panel was originally one piece of board, the unfolded hinge line is almost invisible and each half of the knock-out area that straddles the hinge line matches without the need of aligning.

  • Patent number: 6376038
Abstract: An adhesive tape pack, in which an adhesive layer (3), preferably a hot-melt adhesive layer, is arranged on at least one carrier element (2). In order to provide adhesive tape packs of this type with tape sections (5), which can be easily separated from one another, the present invention provides for providing the carrier element (2) with notches (4) transversely to the longitudinal direction of the tape, which cut through the carrier element (2), but not the adhesive layer (3). In this way, the tape sections (5) are held together by means of the adhesive layer (3) and can be separated by lightly cutting through the adhesive layer (3) along the notches (4).

Abstract: The invention provides a multilayer intumescent mat or sheet that is useful as a mounting for a pollution control device or as a firestop. In one aspect, the multilayer intumescent sheet of the invention comprises a non-moldable flexible non-intumescent layer and a non-moldable flexible intumescent layer comprising an intumescent material wherein the layers form a single sheet without the use of auxiliary bonding means. In another aspect, the multilayer intumescent sheet of the invention comprises a first non-moldable intumescent layer comprising a first intumescent material and a second non-moldable intumescent layer comprising a second intumescent material, the first and second intumescent materials being different, wherein the layers form a single sheet without the use of auxiliary bonding means. The invention also provides a pollution control device comprising a multilayer sheet of the invention disposed between a monolith and a housing.

  • Patent number: 6361639
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an index divider sheet assembly adapted for feeding into ink jet printers and the like for a printing operation on the sheet body and/or the index tab of the assembly. The assembly includes a divider sheet having a tab extending out of one edge and a reinforced binding edge flap. The divider sheet can be manufactured from ink jet receptive top-coated white cardstock. A guide strip along the tab edge assists the assembly being fed and passing through the printer despite the presence of the tab. The binding edge flap is folded over onto the body of the sheet and held thereon to reduce the width dimension of the assembly so that it can be fed into and passed through the printer. After passing through the printer, the guide strip is removed and the flap is unfolded.
