Abstract: A placemat that is reusable and easily transported even when dirty or wet. The placemat consists of a six-sided surface of waterproof flexible material forming the bottom, a same-shaped water resistant material forming a central layer, and a same-shaped absorbent material forming the top layer. Two straps are attached to the placemat; at the point of attachment the strap forms a loop, allowing the use of a pin or other implement to attach the mat to a soft surface. At the loose end of each strap is a pair of snaps, allowing the user to fasten the strap around an object in use by the child or baby to prevent the object from falling to the floor or ground. On the bottom of the mat is a pair of suction cups that allow the placemat to be attached to a hard surface where a pin would not be of use. • Patent number: 8679285
Abstract: A breathable fabric laminate is formed from fabrics of differing properties, by selecting respective faces of each of two fibrous fabrics to be adhesively joined across the selected faces, raising surface fibers of at least one of the selected faces by brushing or napping the surface fibers, applying a pattern of adhesive to at least one of the selected faces, the pattern including areas of adhesive and adhesive-free areas, and then joining the selected faces to form a fabric laminate. Napping or brushing the back sides of the fabrics prior to lamination creates a spacing layer that can increase air permeability and overall laminate thickness.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for repairing stripped female thread holes in workpieces that form a support for a direct screw connection. A female thread connector is formed from a pop rivet modified with a rotation-preventing outer surface or layer, and installed in the stripped hole with its inner end protruding from the inner side of the support and enlarged into a secondary head in conventional fashion. The rotation-preventing outer surface engages the hole so that a self-tapping screw can be threaded through the connector rivet to make a solid, durable, blind screw connection between an outer workpiece and the support.

Abstract: The invention relates to a component with filament connection, in particular for communication, in particular for optical communication comprising: a voluminous material, a substrate, a filament and a connection component applied on the filament, where the filament has been embedded in the substrate and, at a transition point, emerges from the substrate and proceeds into the voluminous material. According to the invention, the voluminous material directly encloses the filament from the transition point and directly encloses the connection component applied on the filament and has full-area inseparable bonding to the substrate, where the voluminous material is a fully crosslinked voluminous material formed from a pliable material and the substrate has been hardened.

Abstract: Insulation for a cryogenic component is described. The insulation includes an inner portion formed of a multi-layer insulating material comprising alternating layers of metalized polymer film and polymer netting. An outer supporting mesh surrounds the inner portion and is formed of stainless steel. The insulation is particularly suitable for insulating cryogenic components that move during operation since the supporting mesh acts to support the inner portion against damage caused by forces resulting from motion of the cryogenic component.

Abstract: A cavity filler for use in a hollow pillar of a vehicle. The cavity filler includes a carrier having a generally planar upper surface, an expandable foam mounted to the carrier wherein the expandable foam is mounted to the carrier around a peripheral edge of the carrier. The invention further includes a flange connected to the expandable foam (also made of the expandable foam) wherein the flange extends away from and generally parallel with the planar upper surface of the carrier. The extension and flange of the expandable foam are operable to extend the expandable foam to ensure a full filling of the expandable foam after the heat treating process. The fully occupied hollow cavity of the pillar with the expandable foam blocks the transmission of noise from the engine, wind and/or road noise through the pillars to the interior vehicle cabin.
