Abstract: A document preview system provides previews of a native document to client devices. The previews include comments associated with native objects in the native document. The document preview system identifies bounding areas in the preview associated with the native objects, which may be identified by the rendering markers applied to the native document prior to rendering. Using the bounding areas, the document preview system identifies comments for the native document and determines the location to display the comment using native objects associated with the comment. When a new comment is received from a user for a preview of a native document, the document preview system determines native objects for the new comment that match a user's selection for placing the new comment. The new comment is inserted with the native objects in the native document.

Abstract: A system and method is described for facilitating a video connection between service providers and service consumers (clients) based on a queue of providers waiting in video rooms. Upon entry into a video room using a networked camera and microphone, each service provider receives a timestamp. Clients requiring service connect to the available provider with the oldest timestamp. In certain embodiments, the queue holds math tutors and the cameras are document cameras.

Abstract: A method and associated computer program product are disclosed for generating an object file for subsequent linking by a linker. The object file comprises a function that references a table of contents (TOC) pointer register. The method comprises generating, in the object file, at least one first annotation that identifies at least one instruction of the function. The at least one instruction has an eliminable reference to the TOC pointer register. The first annotation configures the linker to determine, during the subsequent linking of the object file and based on the at least one first annotation, whether to eliminate the eliminable reference.

Abstract: A method for automatically validating data against a predefined data specification, includes: a) acquiring data to be validated (2), the data including a plurality of test objects, b) acquiring a test database (4) including a plurality of test files each defining a test scenario, c) acquiring a predefined data specification (6) against which the test objects must be validated, d) automatically generating a plurality of test scripts (8), from the acquired test files and using relevant data from the test objects of the acquired predefined data specification, e) for each generated test script, executing the test script (10) on the test objects, and f) automatically generating a test report (12) including a result of each executed test case.

Abstract: An aspect of the disclosure includes a method, a system and a computer program product for planning and presenting a topic to a plurality of students. The method includes defining a topic for a plurality of students and a time period for presenting the topic to the plurality of students. Each of the students has an associated learning style, the learning style including a learning style, pace, speed or mastery information. At least one electronic media is determined from a plurality of electronic media on the topic for each of the students based on a consumption time of the electronic media, the time period and the associated learning style parameter of each student. The at least one electronic media determined for each student is presented to each student.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for generating reports. A computer system displays an application with fields in a graphical user interface on a display system. The application is used to perform transactions for an organization. The computer system identifies a group of the fields displayed in the graphical user interface that is selectable for use in a group of the reports. The computer system displays a group of graphical indicators in association with the group of the fields in the graphical user interface. The computer system receives a selection of a portion of the group of the fields displayed in the graphical user interface in user input. The computer system creates the group of the reports using the portion of the group of the fields. The computer system sends the group of the reports to an output device, enabling performing an operation for the organization using the group of the reports.

Abstract: Systems and methods for accelerated stabilization of data packet metadata are disclosed herein. The system can include a memory having a content database and a user profile database. The system can include a user device having a first network interface and a first I/O subsystem. The system can include one or more servers. The one or more servers can: retrieve data packet metadata for a data packet; determine that the data packet metadata is unstable; identify a set of potential recipients of the data packet; select one of the set of potential recipients as the recipient of the data packet; provide the data packet to the recipient of the data packet; receive a response from the recipient to the provided data packet; and automatically update the data packet metadata based on the response received from the recipient.

The method further includes collecting one or more answering activities of one or more answerers to the provided quizzes from the one or more answerers, wherein a pair includes a preparer and an answerer. The method additionally includes calculating, for each pair, a degree of similarity of knowledge background, based on the one or more answering activities of the one or more answerers.

Abstract: A content management system for collecting files from one or more submitters in a collection folder. A collector, who generates the collection folder, can invite one or more submitters to submit one or more files to the collection folder. The one or more submitters have limited rights to the collection folder. The limited rights can include uploading rights and prohibiting a submitter from viewing files that other submitters associated with the collection folder submitted. Thus, the collection folder is able to store files from the one or more submitters, but prevent them from viewing other's submissions.

Abstract: Information throttle that modifies a device's access to applications, features, or information to enforce workplace use policies. May be used with “bring your own devices” that belong to a user but are also used at work. For example, the system may disable games, media players, or social media when it determines that a device is used at work. A usage context monitor determines the context in which the device is currently used. The monitor may determine that a device is used for work when the time matches working hours, the device location matches a work site location, or the network connected to a device matches a workplace network. In addition to blocking access to inappropriate features, the information throttle may allow access to sensitive information only when the device is at work. Access may also depend on factors such as user credentials and the identity and configuration of the device.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for suggesting and inserting automated assistants in a graphical user interface for managing communication sessions. A system for suggesting an automated assistant generates a first vector describing a current context of a current communication session, and generates a comparison of the first vector and a second vector associated with a past context of an automated assistant in a past communication session. Then, if the comparison exceeds a similarity threshold, the system suggests the automated assistant to at least one user in the current communication session. Optionally, the system can predictively insert the automated assistant in a communication session if the comparison exceeds a similarity threshold. The graphical user interface for managing communication sessions displays automated assistants in a same manner as human participants.

The modular learning system identifies learning users who match the parameters and enable the learning users to receive funding for eligible learning applications. The modular learning system disperses funding after determining particular learning performance requests are eligible items for funding.

In one embodiment, the method comprises capturing of proctoring data at a candidate assessment device from a candidate at predefined time intervals during an examination. The proctoring data includes biometric data, still image, and surround sound associated with the at least one candidate. The proctoring data captured at the candidate assessment device is then transmitted to a central assessment server connected to the candidate assessment device. At the central assessment server, the proctoring data is compared with registration data, of the candidate, stored in the central assessment server. Based on the comparison, malpractice by the candidate during the examination is determined when the proctoring data deviates from the registration data.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus are described herein that facilitate education through an interactive illustration. The systems, methods and apparatuses can facilitate both the design of a course employing the interactive illustration at an instructor interface and education utilizing the course at an educational terminal. The design of the course can be based on a selection of an image, a selection of an activity, a selection of a development level of a student and selection of a work stage. The same image can be utilized for different activities, development levels and work stages. Additionally, tools utilized with the interactive image can be the same for different images, activities, development levels and work stages. The tools can also be the same for the design of the course and the study utilizing the course.

In one aspect, a system includes a data storage facility and an interchange having a common format processor and a plurality of converters to interface with a plurality of different controllers of mobile communications. The converters are configured to communicate with the controllers in different formats and with the common format processor in a common format. For a payment to a merchant, the common format processor provides a user interface configured to present charity donation options in response to a phone number being specified in the user interface to identify a fund source. The common format processor uses one of the converters to communicate with a mobile phone at the phone number to confirm the payment to the merchant and a donation to a separate charity organization specified via the user interface.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for enabling participants to interact remotely through multiple multimedia channels based on the configured capabilities of participants. The system consists of a server and one or more client devices. On joining new interactive session, the attributes and capabilities of the participant are determined. Other participants are notified as to the attributes and capabilities of the new participant. The interaction between participants is determined by their attributes and capabilities and that of the participant they wish to interact with. Participants can use a client device to join a session. If the device is capable of rendering a graphical display based on the capability information configured for that participant and device, participants can view multiple views rendered for the session in different regions of a display.

Abstract: A method, computer program product, and system for providing notifications regarding electronic meetings is described. A set of one or more invitees for an online meeting is received, the set including a first invitee. A first status of the first invitee is identified, the first status indicating unavailability with respect to the electronic meeting. A change in status of the first invitee, after the end of the electronic meeting, to a second status indicating availability with respect to the electronic meeting is identified. A notification of the meeting is provided to the first invitee, based upon, at least in part, identifying the change in status.

Abstract: A computer network implemented system for enabling intelligent crowd sourced examination marking is provided. The system provides features for building and managing a crowd of markers, and a profile manager for managing profiles for each marker. The system enables authorized users to generate marking parameters associated with marking projects. A matching component for matching marking projects or marking activities to crowd markers suggests suitable crowd markers for the marking project. The system delivers applicable examination content for marking (including scoring and/or providing feedback on examination content) by selected crowd markers, or groups of crowd markers through an adaptive marking tool.

Abstract: An aspect of handling a plurality of simulated models includes receiving from a first simulation model a stream of source data and determining data processing compatibility between the simulation model and a second-simulation model by i) obtaining metadata relating to the first-simulation models from a memory and ii) obtaining metadata relating to the second simulation model from the memory. An aspect also includes generating a transformation component using a schema mapping tool for providing compatibility between the first and second simulation models upon a determination that the compatibility does not exist between the two models. The—transformation component is generated—using the metadata relating to the first and second simulation models. The method also includes generating a—stream of target data by the second simulation model via the transformation component. The second simulation model uses the stream of source data as input.

Abstract: A multi-layer user-selectable electronic testing (MUSET) system provides a cascaded set of alternative testing formats for test-takers to select a testing format that best accommodates their level of ability. Test-takers can answer fill-in-the-blank (FITB) items on a computer or other input device. If the test-taker is less confident of their understanding, they can select multiple-choice (MC) or true/false (T/F) testing formats. The MUSET system measures, tracks, and stores the amount of time it takes to answer test items, to switch testing formats, and to change answers. Test-takers indicate a confidence level that they have in the correctness of their answer. The MUSET system determines confidence characteristics, latency characteristics, and hesitancy characteristics of the test-taker and gathers additional parameters to build a performance profile of the test-taker's skills/traits/abilities.

Abstract: The present invention relates to software and a method of use for implementing workflows and managing engagements and staff. More particularly, the present invention relates to a software module tracking data of staff, engagements and workflows and a method of using such data in the management of staff and assignment of tasks. Information concerning employees is input into a database by the manager and the employees, and is tracked therein. The information concerning an employee includes an employee's availability, ability and experience. Workflow/Task information is input into the database when either a client makes a request for service of the business, or a workflow/task internal to the business is needed to be performed. Task information includes the nature of the work and deadlines. Task information is compared to the employee information. A list is automatically generated naming the employees best suited to the mandate of the task.

Abstract: An online system provides for the teaching and learning of step by step solutions to STEM problems. The system comprises at least one tablet computer linked to at least one computer readable storage medium by a communication network. The computer includes an input device and a touch sensitive screen for receiving and displaying handwritten input. A system user inputs the computer with the steps of a step by step solution to a STEM problem by handwriting math expressions and sketches on the touch sensitive screen. The system evaluates and automatically color codes each step in accordance with a color coding protocol stored in the computer readable storage medium as each step is entered into the system. The color coding provides visual feedback which identifies correct steps, erroneous steps, and intermediate steps in the solution. Teachers use the feedback when teaching STEM solutions and students use the feedback when they are practicing and assessing their own solutions.

Abstract: An augmented tutoring system is provided that includes a simulation device, at least one sensor and a controller. The simulation device is adapted to provide a simulation that has an objective to accomplish by a student, wherein to achieve the objective a plurality of tasks must be correctly completed. The at least one sensor is adapted to monitor a cognitive state of the student while engaged with the simulation. The controller is adapted to process cognitive state information from the at least one sensor and to process student progress information relating to the completion of each of the tasks. The controller is further adapted to provide feedback to the student based at least in part on the processed cognitive state information and the processed task completion information.

The data is related to the actions and behavior of individuals being observed and the functional relationship between the individual and his/her environment. The present method provides a means for assessing the data and providing a proposed intervention method and presents the data in a modified form by way of charts, graphs and compiled data for simplicity of use.

Control circuitry may then identify a symbol associated with the interaction, map the symbol to first media asset metadata, and identify a set of media asset metadata. Control circuitry may further compare the identified media asset metadata to a set of attributes of the user's profile, and identifying second media asset metadata and a first field of the second media asset metadata from the set of media asset metadata that matches attributes of the set of attributes of the user's profile. Control circuitry may then search databases to identify collections of media asset for recommendation to the user by identifying media assets that include the second media asset metadata in a field corresponding to the first field. Lastly, control circuitry may perform an action to provide the user with access to the collection.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a host mobile device for tracking attendance of a plurality of attendees each operating an attendee mobile device. The host mobile device includes a processor configured to execute program instructions, and a memory configured to store program instructions for causing the processor to receive an access request including attendee identification information of an attendee from an attendee mobile device, determine whether a first set of access conditions are satisfied in response to the access request, and allow the attendee mobile device to submit biometric information of an attendee to the host mobile device when the set of access conditions are satisfied. The first set of access conditions includes whether an operation distance between the host mobile device and the attendee mobile device is shorter than a preconfigured threshold distance defining a border of an area for a session attendees have registered for.

Each computer includes an input device and a touch sensitive screen for receiving handwritten input. The teacher inputs the teacher computer with at least one assessment question and at least one corresponding correct answer to the question, both inputs being handwritten using math expressions and STEM sketches.
