    Abstract: A non-directional connection module is described for connecting with a battery. The non-directional connection module uses a first conductive element to connect the positive pole of the battery, and a second conductive element to connect the negative pole of the battery. An insulation element is positioned between the first conductive element and the second conductive element. Both the second conductive element and the insulation element have respective holes. The positive pole of the battery can pass through the holes, but the negative pole of the battery cannot pass through the holes. In this light, the present invention uses the non-directional connection module to connect the battery so that there is no consideration of the positive or negative poles of the battery.

    Abstract: A conical contact of a male plug is biased by a coil spring which rides on a cylindrical tail. A bushing compresses the spring, but is held captive on the tail by a pin passing radially through the bushing and a slot through the tail. A female receptacle has a conical hole to receive the conical contact. A sleeve extends from the hole, providing two ramp shaped slots to engage the protruding ends of the pin on the male plug. When the connector is mated, the bushing is inserted into the sleeve and the ends of the pin engage the slots in the sleeve, causing the conical contact to enter the conical hole. Rotation of the bushing causes the ends of the pin to ride the ramp shaped slots inward, causing the conical contact to rotate as the spring compresses, forcing the conical contact into the conical hole. When fully mated, the ends of the pin fall into detent positions at the ends of the slots, locking the connector.

In one embodiment, each jaw is provided near its outer surface with an electrically conductive member defined by one or more resilient electrical contact elements which extend longitudinally of the corresponding jaw. The elements of each member are integral with a pair of semi-circular bands which are secured in any suitable manner, such as by soldering or spot welding, to the outer surface of the respective jaw. When the jaws are closed, the members mate with each other at the side edges to form a banana plug which can be inserted into a jack or other tubular recess. In another embodiment, the jaws have integral contact elements thereon which define a banana plug configuration when the jaws are closed.

    Abstract: A reversible connector for applying selectively different power levels to a three phase electrical motor. Lead wires from the motor are brought out to a terminal block having an array of female terminals arranged for mating engagement with arrays of pins on opposite sides of the reversible connector. The pin arrays are setwise interconnected so that engagement with the terminal block produces appropriate connections for the selected power level. Three phase power leads are connected to the connector, and the connector is engaged with the terminal block in that facing direction which is appropriate for the power level being applied to the power leads.
