Having Open Slot For Receiving Preformed Panel Circuit Arrangement Or Tape Cable Patents (Class 439/260)
  • Patent number: 7993151
Abstract: A shielded insertion and connection structure for a flat cable connector includes a receiving housing and a hold-down member. The receiving housing forms a receiving compartment and two side walls formed at opposite ends of the receiving compartment. The hold-down member has opposite ends that respectively form pivot structures for pivotal coupling to the side walls and rotation between an open position and a holding position. The hold-down member is made of metal and the receiving housing is at least partly made of metal to form a conduction section, which is connected to a grounding terminal. When the hold-down member is at the open position and a circuit flat cable is inserted into the receiving compartment, the hold-down member is operated to depress and hold the circuit flat cable and the hold-down member is put in electrical connection with the grounding terminal through the conduction section.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a connector, including a case, a terminal and a pressing member. The terminal is provided with a fixed arm fixed to the case and a movable arm juxtaposed so as to extend in the same direction. One end of the movable arm has a press portion, and another end has a portion to be pressed. The pressing member has a rotating shaft, and a pressure bearing portion able to press the portion to be pressed is directionally formed thereon. Because the pressure bearing portion able to press the portion to be pressed is directionally formed on the rotating shaft of the pressing member and able to bear pressure on the portion to be pressed of the terminal, thus the present invention effectively prevents the pressing member from breaking off or damage resulting when the pressing member is subjected to an inappropriate reverse direction operation.

Abstract: A ceramic connector body for a high temperature electrical connector, such as those used in high temperature gas sensors, incorporates a pair of opposing ceramic body portions which are operative for pivoting engagement and to be fixed in a connector body retainer which also enables their pivoting, hinged movement. The pivoting engagement permits the ceramic body portions to hinge open to receive a gas sensor with a low insertion force and a hinge close to provide the desired contact force. The ceramic body portions are also operative to house conductive terminals which provide electrical contact for power and signal communication with a gas sensor.
