The test result is compared with specification values to determine whether the circuit under test works normally.

    Abstract: An axially actuated battery terminal post clamp in which a threaded fastener causes clamping action of a concave post seat onto the convex surface of a battery terminal post, and wherein the threaded fastener is oriented axially, that is, substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the battery terminal post. A clamp body has a concave post seat defining a post seat axis, a first sidewall member and a second sidewall member. First and second U-shaped clips are interfaced with the first and second sidewall members and have guide holes, wherein at least one clip has tapered guide holes. A threaded fastener is oriented parallel to the post seat axis and has tapers which interact with the guide holes to cause the diameter of the post seat to decrease as the threaded fastener is actuated.

The assembly preferably includes a conductive cable fitting for connection to a cable, a conductive terminal connector having an arm adapted to engage the terminal, a cold-flow-resistant sleeve positioned in and bonded to the connector, the sleeve defining a bore for receiving the cable fitting, and a tensioning member adapted to connect to and urge the cable fitting into contact with the bore. When assembled, the tensioning member ensures electrical contact between the cable and the terminal. The invention also includes a battery terminal and cable connection arrangement utilizing such a connection assembly.

    Abstract: An adapter has a cylindrical body which is screwed onto a battery post, and a flange portion formed on a top portion of the cylindrical body to be clamped by a screwing tool. A terminal body includes a substantially U-shaped adaptor fitting portion which accommodates the adapter therein, and a seat portion on which an electric wire terminal is fixed. A lever includes a cam portion and is supported on the terminal body so as to be pivotable between a first position and a second position. A space in which the flange portion is capable of passing through is secured inside of the adaptor fitting portion when the lever is in the first position. The cam portion is abutted against an outer periphery of the cylindrical body of the adaptor so that the adaptor is retained between the cam portion and an inner face of the adaptor fitting portion, when the lever is in the second position. The flange portion of the adaptor is engaged with a top end face of the adapter fitting portion of the terminal body.

A battery cable includes an attached connector. The connector is configured to receive the blade in a snap-in relationship. The blade includes a protrusion thereon, and the connector includes a spring member configured to provide sufficient normal force on the blade to force the blade against a wall of the connector to provide a reliable electrical contact. The spring member abuts the protrusion to secure the blade in the connector.

A nut assembly is threadably engaged over the terminal post and includes a pair of additional guides which inter-engage the aperture angling guides along a traveling direction of the slotted portion.

    Abstract: An electrical connection unit which includes a main box, a connector mounted from one side of the main box, and a junction block mounted in the main box from the opposite side. The junction block carries electrical parts such as relays, fuses, etc. There is a connector cavity in the main box into which the connector is placed. There is also a support in the connector cavity upon which the connector rests in its preliminary position. Tightening elements on the junction block and the connector serve to affix these two elements together in their assembled position. There are also cavity grooves on the inner surface of the connector cavity and complementary projections which enter the grooves as the elements are assembled. The Invention provides a means whereby the connection unit can be readily assembled without the necessity of turning it over and without the use of any tools. The tightening means are simple and easy to operate, thus minimizing the cost of the finished product.

A design that saves more space, and a smaller structural height, are possible with a plug-and-socket connector having a conductor track structure that is planar and has a window-shaped opening, which is adjoined perpendicularly in one direction by a plug region that receives both the first plug and the second plug inserted from the opposite direction through the window-shaped opening of the conductor track structure.
