  • Patent number: 6749495
Abstract: A machine tool comprises a working area, closed by walls and a roof covering, in which a device for receiving a work piece is arranged, and a headstock with a main spindle is arranged, into which tools for machining the work piece can be clamped. Device and headstock are movable relatively to each other. In a front wall an opening lockable by a door leads into the working area. At least one part of the roof covering is movable between two positions in such a way that it locks the working area to the top in a first position and releases same to the top for loading in a second position.

  • Patent number: 6743076
Abstract: The flange cover covering the blade is divided into two. The second cover is turnably connected to the first cover through a shaft parallel with the spindle of the blade, and the second cover is opened and closed in connection with vertical movement of the spindle. When the spindle is moved upward for replacing the blade, the second cover is automatically turned to the opening position, and L-shaped coolant jetting nozzles are moved away from positions below the blade to positions beside the blade. Thus, the blade can be easily replaced, and an automatic blade replacing system can be applied.

  • Patent number: 6733377
Abstract: The dicing machine has a shielding plate movably arranged between a processing part and a microscope so as to check mist and spray produced from the processing part. The shielding plate can be moved back and forth between a shielding position and a retreated position, so that the shielding plate is positioned at the shielding position during processing of the work and at the retreated position when the operator replaces the old blade with a new one. Thus, even if the dicing machine has two spindles facing to each other, the shielding plate does not interfere with replacement of blades on the spindles.

  • Patent number: 6688955
Abstract: A grinding tool includes a handle with a driving device for driving a grinding member connected to a shaft extending from the driving device. A cone-shaped recess is defined in a distal end of the shaft and a flexible cone-shaped piece is received in the cone-shaped recess of the shaft. The grinding member has a shank extending through the flexible cone-shaped piece and a retaining cap is mounted to the shank and threadedly mounted to the shaft. The grinding member can be replaced with a grinding wheel and a fender is rotatably mounted to the shaft. A quick release device is connected to two lugs on the C-shaped collar of the fender so that the fender can be conveniently loosened and rotated by operating the quick release device.

  • Patent number: 6568885
Abstract: A machining cell capable of providing tool movement along at least one axis is provided with at least one, but preferably a pair of articulated debris shields mounted to a tool carriage that translates along an axis of motion. Each articulated debris shield occludes space vacated by the tool carriage as it translates along the axis of motion. In a preferred embodiment, the machining cell provides tool movements along x-, y-, and z-axes and has a stationary housing that supports a z-axis carrier frame slidably mounted thereto for translation along the z-axis. An x-axis carriage is slidably mounted to the z-axis carrier frame for translation along the x-axis.
