Multiple upright support posts are set up in an evenly spaced grid. The crosswise members and lengthwise members are constructed as U-profile rails, with through-holes in the horizontal sections of the U-profiles that allow the members to be assembled and supported on the support posts. The poultry holding system thus constructed can have at least two tiers, one above the other. The assembly components are designed to be particularly economical, which allows greater flexibility in the design and construction of the poultry holding system to accommodate the constraints of the particular facility.

This may be accomplished through the use of direct current (DC) fans and pulse width modulation. A controller is used to optimize the ventilation and energy efficiency of the system through the use of several temperature sensors. The energy recovery ventilation also provides a control process for self-optimization of the energy recovery ventilation, in case the supply and exhaust airflows are unequal. An unbalance may be detected by calculating the thermal efficiencies of the exhaust and supply airflows.

    Abstract: A laundry transport apparatus and method includes a container defining an interior area configured to accommodate a plurality of laundry carts, the container having a door movable between closed and open configurations to selectively allow access to said interior area. The container is a trailer configured to be moved by a vehicle. The apparatus includes a ventilation network to pass air to and from the interior area, the ventilation network including an intake duct for channeling air to the interior area and an outlet duct for channeling air from the interior area. At least a portion of the intake and outlet ducts are immediately adjacent one another to influence temperature of air passing through each duct, warmer air passing through one of the intake duct or the outlet duct becoming cooler and cooler air passing through another of the intake duct or the outlet duct becoming warmer.

    Abstract: An airflow management device is described that assists air cooling, exchange, and circulation of interior spaces by creating inward and outward airflow through a window opening. The device measures temperatures outside and inside a room, and determines when to exhaust warmer ceiling air and to draw cooler outside air. The exhaust component of the device captures warmer air at a higher level of the room and exhausts it through a window opening at a lower level. The intake component of the device draws cooler outside air through the window opening and discharges it into the room at a lower level than exhaust inflow. By expelling air from a high level and drawing it at a lower level, the room vertical temperature gradient is maintained thus optimizing cooling effectiveness. By microcontroller regulation of inflow and outflow, air pressure equilibrium between outside and inside is maintained thus maximizing airflow efficiency.
