Wireless Distribution System Patents (Class 455/3.01)
  • Patent number: 9742839
Abstract: An example implementation may involve removing, by a computing device, a given media item from a queue of media items. The example implementation may further involve adding to the queue an indication that the given media item has been removed from the queue. After adding to the queue the indication, the implementation may also involve receiving, via a network interface, one or more requests for one or more media items from the queue of media items. After receiving the one or more requests, the implementation may involve determining that the computing system has received more than a threshold number of requests for one or more media items since adding to the queue the indication. After determining that the computing system has received more than the threshold number of requests, the implementation may involve removing the indication from the queue.

  • Patent number: 9723078
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for maintaining different versions of a web resource. A client-side application observes and tracks all asynchronous requests for web resources sent from the client to a server. Every time a user attempts to modify a resource on the server, the application stops or otherwise pauses the execution of the request and retrieves a representation of the resource from the server in an original state. The representation is stored locally on the client in a local storage, such as browser persistent storage, and may be stored with a timestamp and the corresponding resource URL. Subsequently, the request to modify the resource is executed. In this manner, a representation of the resource is retained in an original state prior to modification. The locally-stored representation can be used to restore the resource back to the original state in response to a so-called undo request by the user.

  • Patent number: 9720405
Abstract: A POL-axis driving unit, an EL-axis driving unit, a Cross-EL-axis driving unit and an AZ-axis driving unit of an antenna apparatus drive respective axis drive motors controlled by a control unit of a control apparatus, such that the antenna performs an origin detection operation for each axis. The camera control unit controls a camera so as to capture an image of the antenna at each timing before and after the origin detection for each axis. An image acquisition unit of an antenna inspection acquires image data that indicates the image of the antenna captured by the camera and makes storage unit store the image data. A comparing diagnosis unit compares image data before the origin detection for each axis with image data after the origin detection, and diagnoses whether the antenna is in a normal state.

  • Patent number: 9709682
Abstract: The present application discloses detecting manipulation of GNSS signals using a second time source. If two or more GNSS constellation signals are being detected, the phase error between the GNSS constellation signals may be monitored. When the phase error drifts, then manipulation is determined. The integrity of a GNSS constellation signal may be monitored using an internal time source such as a crystal oscillator by monitoring a slope of the free running counter at the detected rising edges of a pulse-per-second signal from the GNSS constellation. If more than two GNSS constellations are monitored, a voting scheme may be used to determine the manipulated GNSS constellation.

Abstract: A mobile broadcast service center and a mobile wireless network to deliver broadcast video to mobile wireless devices is described. When the mobile broadcast service center receives a request to deliver a broadcast video channel to a target mobile wireless device, it designates as target an intermediate node in the network that serves the target mobile wireless device. The mobile broadcast service center first determines if an existing channel bundle is routed to the target intermediate node. If this first determination is negative, the mobile broadcast service center routes a new channel bundle to the target intermediate node, including the requested broadcast video channel. If the first determination is positive, the mobile broadcast service center then determines if the requested broadcast video channel is in the existing channel bundle. If this second determination is negative, then it adds the requested broadcast video channel to the existing channel bundle.

Abstract: An onboard apparatus uses two modes to transfer audio data from a mobile phone. A first mode transfers and outputs audio data stored in the mobile phone. The first mode communicates control data according to a control data transfer protocol and transfers and outputs audio data according to an audio data transfer protocol. The second mode permits the mobile phone to successively buffer audio data stored in a server on a communication network and to concurrently transfer and output the buffered data. The second mode replaces the control data transfer protocol with a specific data communication protocol. The second mode communicates control data according to the specific data communication protocol and transfers and outputs audio data according to the audio data transfer protocol. The second mode can communicate any commands and data using the specific data communication protocol regardless of commands specified in the control data transfer protocol.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described for determining a plurality of transmission levels for, e.g., a plurality of time-frequency channels and/or a plurality of tones. The transmission levels may be determined by a first node based on, for example, a received transmission from a second node. The first node may generate a signal, which may be based on, for example, an originator-based pseudorandom sequence, a recipient-based pseudorandom sequence, and/or a complex sinusoid. The first node may transmit the signal as an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmission.

  • Patent number: 9326107
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for transmitting data to terminal devices in a wireless telecommunications system. The data may be user-plane data associated with a repeating Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Services (MBMS) session to be transmitted using MBMS over a Single Frequency Network (MBSFN) in a network including at least one relay node supported by a donor base station. The scheme includes delivering the data from the base station to the relay node in advance of a scheduled transmission to terminal devices at a first time, and transmitting the data from the relay node to a terminal device at the first time. The relay node is further configured to store the data in a cache. The relay node may then retrieve the data from the cache in advance of a scheduled transmission to terminal devices at a second time, and transmit the retrieved data to a terminal device at the second time.

  • Patent number: 9294896
Abstract: Methods, systems and devices, including computer programs, for creating, storing, formatting and sending video messages from one mobile device to another. A video message is recorded by camera element on a first mobile device. A recipient identifier associated with a second mobile device is logged by way of input by the sender. An alert is transmitted to the second mobile device by way of the identifier, thereby providing notification that the video message is ready to view and presenting a selectable screen object to activate the video message. The operating system of the second mobile device is determined, and the video message is formatted for viewing compatibility with that operating system. The video message is then uploaded to and played on the second mobile device. A reply message may similarly be sent from the second mobile device to the first mobile device, without the need to input a recipient identifier.

  • Patent number: 9277291
Abstract: A television program ratings method and system includes transferring information associated with households from a cable provider to a ratings provider such that the ratings provider has access to information associated with sampled households and lacks access to information associated with non-sampled households. To this end, identity information and usage information associated with the households are respectively anonymized and encrypted. Knowledge of the identities of the sampled households enables the anonymized identity information and the encrypted usage information for the sampled households to be respectively de-anonymized and decrypted. The ratings provider knows which households are sampled households. As such, the ratings provider de-anonymizes and decrypts the information associated with the sampled households and then uses the de-anonymized and decrypted information to determine television program ratings.
