Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for monitoring network synchronization. The disclosed embodiments utilize time window snapshots to capture network time information and compare the captured time information against time reference information to determine network time errors. These network time errors can then be analyzed with respect to selected operating parameters and tolerances to determine network synchronization errors and to generate alarms. Certain embodiments are configured to capture time information data and to analyze this captured data locally to determine time error data. Certain other embodiments are configured to utilize multiple capture devices and to transmit time error data to a central snapshot synchronization monitor. The central snapshot synchronization monitor can also communicate control information to the capture devices to control the snapshot time windows.

  • Patent number: 9407520
Abstract: A method and cell controlling node providing radio communication in a first cell of a communication network, for supporting management of the communication network based on performance related reports sent to a management system. Signal measurement reports are obtained from User Equipments being served by the first cell controlling node, on measurements on signals from cell controlling nodes in neighboring cells. Based on the measurement reports, the cell controlling node identifies a neighboring cell from which signals fulfill a signal condition. A current identity of the identified neighboring cell is then selected as a cell cluster identity, in order to send performance related reports to the management system indicating the cell cluster identity. Cell cluster identity can be shared by cells forming a cell cluster of a specific area, and performance related reports can be more uniform regardless of which cell controlling nodes they are received from.

If the data plan specifies a data quota identifying a maximum amount of data for communication by the portable computing device, a data synchronization setting determines whether to minimize the frequency of synchronization between the portable computing device and a server or to dynamically modify the frequency of synchronization based on data usage. If data synchronization is dynamically modified, the data synchronization frequency is modified based on an estimated data usage of the portable computing device over a time interval. The data synchronization frequency is modified based on the difference between estimated data usage and the data quota and is reduced if the estimated data usage equals or exceeds the data quota.

Abstract: Embodiments provide an enhanced approach for Higher Priority Public Land Mobile Network (HPPLMN) search. In one embodiment, information acquired during a search (for each detected cell per frequency channel) is saved in a database and persisted in the database based on a validity time. An idle mode-to-connected mode transition by the UE, rather than aborting the search, only suspends the search for it to be resumed at a later time upon a connected mode-to-idle mode transition by the UE. Saved search data that is valid at the time of the transition is maintained and the frequency channel(s) associated with it is not re-searched in the current search. • Patent number: 9191414
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product are described for managing network communications to a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server capable of SIP processing using a SIP stack. A data packet is received from a network device. It is determined, from the data packet, whether the network device is a device recognized by the SIP server. Responsive to this determination, and before SIP processing using the SIP stack, it is determined whether the data packet conforms to a permitted configuration. The permitted configuration includes that data of the data packet indicates an unfragmented User Datagram Protocol (UDP) packet and that data indicative of SIP data in the received data packet matches a parsing rule. If the data packet conforms to the permitted configuration, it is passed to the SIP stack, if not it is discarded.

Abstract: Various embodiments pertain to techniques for decreasing an amount of time to a browser onload event by asynchronously loading web page content. In various embodiments, frames are utilized to trigger an onload event before all content in a web page is loaded. In some embodiments, various components of the web page, such as advertisements, are provided in frames, and the loading of the components is triggered by an onload event of the frame. In other words, an empty frame can be provided for the purposes of triggering both a frame onload event and an onload event for the web page. The frame onload event can cause a page script to be executed effective to load the components into the frames. In some embodiments, two or more nested frames are utilized to provide asynchronous loading of web page components while maintaining compatibility of the advertisement or multimedia items and the web page.

Abstract: A mobile device may obtain time difference of arrival (TDOA) measurements from wireless signals transmitted by a plurality of nodes. The plurality of nodes may include synchronized nodes that are synchronized to a time reference and an unsynchronized node that has a time synchronization error relative to the time reference. An estimated location of the mobile device can be determined based on the TDOA measurements. Another estimated location of the mobile device can be determined based on other data, such as the mobile device scanning an object having a known location. The time synchronization error can then be determined based on a distance between these estimated locations. Once the time synchronization error has been determined, it can be used to correct subsequent TDOA measurements involving the unsynchronized node.

Abstract: Embodiments herein relates to a method in a radio base station (12) for handling a timing of uplink transmission from a user equipment (10) to the radio base station (12) in a radio communications network. The user equipment (10) is served in a cell (14) controlled by the radio base station (12), and which radio base station (12) and user equipment (10) are comprised in the radio communications network. The communications in the cell (14) are organized in radio frames comprising subframes. The radio base station (12) receives a first uplink transmission from the user equipment (10) in a subframe related to the radio base station (12). The radio base station then estimates a time parameter value based on a distance between the user equipment (10) and the radio base station (12) when the first uplink transmission is transmitted from the user equipment (10).
