Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for monitoring a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) in a wireless communication system. A UE receives a system information block (SIB) from a base station. The UE obtains a first time division duplex (TDD) uplink (UL)/downlink (DL) configuration from the SIB. The UE identifies DL subframes in a radio frame. The UE monitors the PDCCH transmitted from the base station on a DL subframe included in an on duration period of a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle. The UE obtains information about a second TDD UL/DL configuration from the monitored PDCCH. The UE applies the second TDD UL/DL configuration to the radio frame. The DL subframe corresponds to a predetermined subframe number in the radio frame. The on duration period represents a period corresponding to a predetermined number of subframes from a subframe where the DRX cycle starts, and the on duration period is repeated periodically.

  • Patent number: 11109313
Abstract: A cellular modem is configured for low power applications. In some instances, the cellular modem includes a transceiver, a processor to control the transceiver, a memory device in communication with the processor, and a general-purpose input/output (GPIO) pin, controlled by the processor. In an example, the cellular modem receives an appointed time for an upcoming communication and determines a time to activate a power supply. The determination may be based at least in part on the appointed time for the communication, so that the power supply is ready to supply power at a level consistent with use of the transceiver at the appointed time of the communication. At the determined time, a signal from the GPIO pin is used to activate the power supply, resulting in an increase in power supplied to the cellular modem in a just-in-time manner.

Abstract: Embodiments are provided for communicating notifications and other textual data associated with applications installed on an electronic device. According to certain aspects, a user can interface with an input device to send (218) a wake up trigger to the electronic device. The electronic device retrieves (222) application notifications and converts (288) the application notifications to audio data. The electronic device also sends (230) the audio data to an audio output device for annunciation (232). The user may also use the input device to send (242) a request to the electronic device to activate the display screen. The electronic device identifies (248) an application corresponding to an annunciated notification, and activates (254) the display screen and initiates the application.
