Patent number: 7941968Abstract: The plant watering trellis apparatus provides both a trellis for plant support and a plant watering means. The collection tray is sized with a width about equal to the top width of the apparatus so that rain collection is also an option, as well as hand or automated filling from another source. Transparency of the vertical supply tubes allows a user to visually determine the water level within the apparatus. Legs are inserted into a given soil for apparatus support. The valves in the delivery tubes control drip and rate of drip from the delivery block orifices so that monitoring water supply to plants is needed only at the outset in determining best plant water supply. After setting, the apparatus can be conveniently left unattended. The delivery blocks are relatively heavy so the delivery tubes are downwardly extended. The planar apparatus is easily located and used.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 2009Date of Patent: May 17, 2011Inventor: Richard A. Coyle

Patent number: 7188448Abstract: A clip device is used in a kit, system and method for supporting plants during growth. The clip includes an elongated beam portion with clamp portions on each end. The clamp portions are made of a stiff, resilient material, and each includes a stationary jaw and a flexing jaw that define a bay sized to engage an elongated pole so that a pair of poles may be interconnected in spaced apart relation. The beam portion can be reinforced with flanges and/or gussets. The clamp portions may have cylindrical sidewalls and be in a C-shaped configuration. As a kit, a plurality of clip devices and a plurality of poles are provided in order to create a framework to support a plant. The method contemplates erecting poles at the vertices of a regular geometric polygon and releasably interconnecting them with these clip devices.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 2003Date of Patent: March 13, 2007Assignee: Woodstream CorporationInventor: James E. Patent number: 7143543Abstract: An apparatus includes a body that has abutted and rectilinear lower ends that extend upwardly from the ground surface and terminate thereabove. The body has a top portion formed with a top edge of the lower ends and is disposed coplanar therewith. Coextensive support rods are conjoined to the lower ends and the top portion. The support rods are coextensively shaped and confront a length of the body. A base plate is engaged with the lower ends and the ground surface. An anchor rod is conjoined to the base plate and extends vertically down and away therefrom. The anchor rod is nested below the ground surface for maintaining same at a fixed position. The anchor rod has a diameter greater than a diameter of the lower end portions and the support rods respectively. A plant pot has a hook attached thereto that is attachable to the top portion.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 2005Date of Patent: December 5, 2006Inventor: Roger E. Daniell

Patent number: 7043876Abstract: An adjustable plant cage comprises an elongate rod having opposite first and second ends. The first end is for insertion into a ground surface with the rod extending upwardly. A plurality of wheels are provided. Each wheel comprises a hub slidably received on the elongate rod, a ring, and spokes connecting the ring to the hub. A plurality of annular flexible support elements are each positioned at a select longitudinal position in the elongate rod to support an associated one of the wheels.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 2004Date of Patent: May 16, 2006Inventor: Anthony J. Patent number: 7020998Abstract: A stake for supporting a newly planted tree or other plant. The stake has an elongated portion with a lower end which may be secured in the ground and an upper portion that is tied to the plant. At least one secondary support member is pivotally attached to the lower end of the elongated portion. The secondary support member extends in an approximately perpendicular manner from the elongated member. The secondary support member may be pivotally adjusted as desired for support.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 2004Date of Patent: April 4, 2006Assignee: K & S Arbor Products, LLCInventors: Roy E. Patent number: 7017299Abstract: A gardening cage having self-irrigating and self-fertilizing devices. In a typical embodiment, the cage includes panels having a frame that includes a plurality of horizontal and vertical rungs. The panels are connected so that rungs of respective panels cascade with respect to rungs of the adjacent panel. In a typical embodiment, the bottom rungs of each panel include irrigating holes so that water injected into the rungs can be dispensed around the periphery of the vines. The water is typically suppled to the cage by a hose that connects to a water inlet that feeds the holes. Several cages can be placed side by side and can be fitted with “T” fittings that branch off the supply hose and feed the individual cages via the water inlet fitting.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 2004Date of Patent: March 28, 2006Inventors: Janet R.
