  • Patent number: 5993344
Abstract: A unidirectional roller chain sprocket for use primarily in automotive engine chain drive applications which incorporates an asymmetrical tooth for improved noise reduction. The asymmetrical tooth profile incorporates a flank flat which is tangent to an engaging flank radius and a first root radius. The asymmetrical tooth profile also incorporates one or more inclined root surfaces which provide tooth space clearance for maintaining the chain rollers in hard contact with the root surface in the sprocket wrap. The asymmetrical tooth profile further incorporates pitch mismatch wherein the sprocket chordal pitch is less than the chain chordal pitch to facilitate a "staged" roller-tooth contact as a roller moves into full mesh from an initial tangential impact at the flank flat.

  • Patent number: 5908364
Abstract: A noise preventing roller chain structure greatly reduces noise generated when a roller chain engages a sprocket or travels on a chain guide. The roller chain has a roller whose axial length is less than the space between opposed inner plates of the chain. A circumferentially continuous ridge portion is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the roller. A groove is formed in either the toothed surface of the sprocket or in the roller bearing surface of the chain guide. The ridge portion is fitted in the groove to guide and hold both end faces of the roller in a position spaced from the respective inner plates. An elastic member is embedded in the groove. It is thus possible to prevent the rubbing of the roller end faces with the surfaces of the inner plates and, concomitantly, the sound generated when the roller of the roller chain engages the sprocket or travels on the chain guide.

A second drum-shaped conveying section receives the solid medicine from the first drum-shaped conveying section and conveys the solid medicine at equal intervals so that the opposite surface of each solid medicine is observed. First and second observing units are provided adjacent to said first and second drum-shaped conveying sections for observing both surfaces of each piece of solid medicine respectively. A third observing unit is employed for observing the thickness of each piece of solid medicine conveyed by the first and second drum-shaped conveying sections at least before the piece of solid medicine reaches the second observing unit.

  • Patent number: 4348199
Abstract: A buffer device for reducing the impact and noise of the coupling of a roller chain and sprocket. A groove is provided adjacent the teeth of a sprocket which receives a buffer ring. The buffer ring includes an outer resiliently compressible ring and an inner spring-like ring which is not compressible, but which is capable of resilient deformation. The buffer ring is sized to very loosely fit in the groove to avoid wear concentration. The outside diameter of the buffer ring is larger than the inscribed circle of the link plates of the roller chain engaged with the sprocket.

  • Patent number: 4261214
Abstract: A chain noise preventing device wherein a cushioning ring, having an outside diameter larger than that of a semicircular inscribed circle of chain formed when the chain meshes with a sprocket, is arranged on at least one side surface of the sprocket.

  • Patent number: 4227422
Abstract: A chain device including a sprocket wheel, a buffer ring provided on one side of the sprocket wheel for rotation relative thereto, and a chain meshing therewith. The buffer ring has an outer diameter greater than the inner-diameter dimension of a semicircular-shaped portion of the chain which is in meshing engagement with the sprocket wheel. Thus, when the chain and sprocket wheel are in meshing engagement with each other, the buffer ring is restrained and forced by the inner-diameter part of the semicircular-shaped portion of the chain, so that the ring is deformed into an elliptical shape. Each of the link plates which form the chain includes a depressed portion having a curved shape coinciding, in its radius of curvature, to the maximum radius of curvature of the elliptically-deformed buffer ring. Such curved shape of the depressed portion of the link plate contributes to the improvement of durability of the buffer ring, as well as to reduction of chain noise.

  • Patent number: 4210031
Abstract: Lifting or pressing device includes means for transmitting thrust, and a compressive force-transmitting push rod shiftable by said thrust transmitting means, the push rod being formed of individual elements form-lockingly clampable one to another, the individual elements being fittable with a pressure-proof, bending-proof and buckling-proof fit into one another in direction of thrust by the thrust transmitting means, and being releasable in a direction opposite the direction of thrust and being divertable out of the direction of thrust.
