Resilient Connection Between Pulley Or Guide-roll Rim And Mount Patents (Class 474/94)
  • Patent number: 8641563
Abstract: A belt pulley damper for attenuating torsional vibrations of a drive shaft and includes a belt pulley for driving a pull mechanism, particularly a pulling belt. A torsional vibration damper, particularly a decoupler for torsional vibrations is connected with a drive flange and includes a driven disk movable circumferentially relative to the drive flange, and a driven disk is axially movable relative to a belt pulley. The belt pulley and the driven disk include axially-opposed teeth. The belt pulley teeth and the driven disk teeth can be engaged below a threshold pull force occurring during drive operation, and can be disengaged above the threshold pull force. In that manner, undesired torsional vibrations can be avoided by a free-wheel device without substantially increasing noise.

  • Patent number: 8021253
Abstract: A one way isolator for high torque devices, such as alternator-starters, driven by a flexible drive means includes a hub and a sheave each of which includes at least one stop member. The hub and sheave are linked by a isolating spring and, via a bearing and/or bushing, can rotate with respect to each other to provide isolation, through the spring, from torque variations when torque is transferred from the flexible drive means to the device. When substantial amounts of torque are transferred from the device to the flexible drive means, the sheave rotates with respect to the hub to bring the stop members into contact such that the isolator then acts like a solid pulley to facilitate the transfer of the torque from the device.

  • Patent number: 7985150
Abstract: The invention seeks to provide a transmission system, in particular for a starter-alternator, capable both of damping large variations in torque under starting conditions (drive from the alternator) and of providing effective decoupling under running conditions (alternator driven). In an embodiment, the decoupling located between a central hub and a rim over which a drive belt (not shown) is tensioned, is provided by at least one decoupler element designed to provide optimized stiffness. In addition, the decoupler assembly is associated with at least one deflection limiter having two components: a central plate secured to an outside face of the central hub and coupled to abutments that are regularly distributed around the periphery of an inside face of the rim, the abutments and the plate being shaped so as to come into deforming contact. The resilient assembly provides two stiffness values, whether in the drive direction or in the driven direction.
