Plural Planetary Units Patents (Class 475/219)
  • Patent number: 8047944
Abstract: A transmission unit, especially a multirange transmission, includes two superposition gears that are embodied as triple-shaft planetary gears, a continuously variable transmission in the form of a traction gear, and a way for controlling the transmission ratio on the traction gear. The individual superposition gears and the continuously variable transmission are coupled to each other via one respective connecting gear. The second shaft of the first superposition gear and a shaft of the second superposition gear can be alternatively joined to the gear output via a shiftable clutch. The second shaft of the first superposition gear can be connected in a torsion-proof manner to the third shaft of the second superposition gear. • Patent number: 7766780
Abstract: A continuously variable transmission comprises a drive shaft which has first and second drive shafts and is provided with rotational power, a planetary gear unit which is meshed with the first drive gear of the drive shaft and has a sun gear secured to an output shaft, and a transmission which receives a portion of driving force to provide additional output. Interruption of power transmission when shifting is prevented. Also, since the construction of the continuously variable transmission is simplified to minimize the load generated due to a shifting operation, power loss resulting from shifting is reduced, and the manufacturing cost is decreased. In particular, since vibration and noise generated upon shifting are decreased, the continuously variable transmission can be widely applied, from a small power device such as a bicycle or a motorcycle to a large power transmission apparatus such as an industrial machine.

  • Patent number: 7384362
Abstract: All power generating member for generating a torque needs a transmission for randomly controlling the torque. Most of current transmission utilizes the engagement of gears having different gear rates or frictions as a medium. The transmission according to the engagement of gears generates the transmission the transmission shock and the transmission utilizing the friction as a medium has a limit caused by the friction. In order to resolve the problems, it is suggested to construct elements which may move in position in gears to distribute the torque to a low speed line or a high speed gear line in the constant engagement state, thereby realizing the continuous speed change from the high speed to the low speed or vise versa. Such a continuously variable transmission is applicable to vehicles and heavy equipment utilizing an internal combustion engine as a power generating source and any other vehicles.

Abstract: To advance the pivotally supporting point of a swing arm on a vehicle body frame, the distance in the forward and backward direction between a crankshaft and a countershaft of a transmission is decreased as much as possible thereby making the length of the swing arm great and sufficiently absorb upward and downward oscillation of a rear wheel to achieve stabilization of the vehicle body. A countershaft is disposed below a main shaft of the transmission while a shift drum is disposed rearwardly of the main shaft, and a driving sprocket wheel for driving a rear wheel is provided on the countershaft. An internal combustion engine is disposed on the vehicle body frame such that a rear portion of a transmission is positioned above a pivotally supporting point of a swing arm.
