Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for enabling an operator to exercise comprising a frame having a body, a base and a top. A load is positioned on the frame for providing a resistive force. A press is positioned on the frame for displacement by the operator. A linkage joins the load with the press for displacing the load upon displacement of the press by the operator. An arm extends between a support end and a user end. A support pivot secures the support end of the arm to the top of the frame for pivoting the arm about the frame. A user interface inputs and outputs data. A user pivot securing the user interface to the user end of the arm for pivoting the user interface about the arm.

Abstract: The present invention is a separable weight adjustable medicine ball, which can be used in a variety of exercise routines. The present invention is primarily comprised of two pieces, which can either be separated to perform exercises that involve dumbbells or push-up handles or be combined to perform exercises that involve a medicine ball. The present invention allows a user to incrementally increase the exercising load with a plurality of weights. The plurality of weights is separated between the two pieces and held in place with a pair of weight supports. The plurality of weights is secured on the pair of weight supports with a pair of collar clamps. The collar clamp is an user-friendly device that can be opened by squeezing the sides of the collar clamp and can be closed by releasing the sides of the collar clamp.

Abstract: In-field kits and systems for self-directed therapeutic pulley-based muscle rehabilitation methods. The in-field kit and system comprises ring-shaped fasteners that can be removably coupled to preselected locations on a stationary structure, such as a chain link fence. Pulleys are coupled to the ring-shaped fasteners and an inelastic tether spans the pulleys. The tether has a proximal end portion to which a handle is coupled and a distal end portion to which a weight is coupled. The weight and pulleys provide resistance when a person uses the handle to perform any one of a multiplicity of exercise routines. Use of the invention obviates a need to have a physical therapist present at all times during rehabilitation of an injured user because the invention is a pulley-based system usable at home or at an athletic field.

Abstract: A liquid filled portable exercise apparatus consisting of a portable assembly that may be easily transportable in a suitcase for travel consisting of a single or multiple removable, resilient and liquid or water fillable bladder center section(s) within a closed form, nearly circular, or elliptical in shape, handle section allowing the user to use it in a similar manner as that of a Kettle Ball as well as a weighted exercise bar. Some implementations can include a handle as well as resilient and collapsible bladders that are designed, without liquid or water, to lay nearly flat in a suitcase and allow for easy attachment of one or more collapsible bladders that can be filled with various levels of liquid or water commensurate with the desired weight required by the user for a specific exercise routine. Typically, the user would completely fill the bladders.

Abstract: An athlete training apparatus includes a platform, a force redirecting device that is mounted on the platform, an elastic member, a first user coupler and a second user coupler. The elastic member has a first end and an opposite second end and is engaged with the force redirecting device. The first user coupler is coupled to the first end of the elastic member and is also configured to be worn by a first individual. The second user coupler is coupled to the second end of the elastic member and is configured to be worn by a second individual. When the first individual stands in the standing area and when the second individual applies a force to the elastic member, the force redirecting device redirects a portion of the force to the second user coupler so that a force having a downward vertical component is applied to the first individual.

Abstract: A weight-lifting exercise machine enables an athlete to lift a mass from an initial resting position. After the athlete releases the mass, the machine cushions the fall of the mass, such that the mass returns to its resting position without assistance from the athlete. The movements of the athlete and the mass can be tracked, preferably by wireless accelerometers attached respectively to the athlete and the mass, and data on such movements can be stored and analyzed. The machine provides a monitor to enable the athlete to track the progress of the exercise, and to determine whether the exercise is being performed correctly.

  • Patent number: 8529415
Abstract: A dumbbell with a selectable number of weight disks includes a handle with projectable pins in opposing directions, with end surfaces, a base assembly for accommodating two sets of weight disks standing upright, the weight disks having central openings. The projection lengths of the pins are stepwise selectable by an indexing device in order thereby to permit selection of the number of weight disks supported on the handle. Neighboring weight disks and the handle have mutually engaging connecting arrangements which axially interconnect the weight disks and the handle but which permit radial separation. In order to prevent the set projection lengths of the pins from being unintentionally altered, when a dumbbell lifted up out of the base assembly is used, the handle has a locking arrangement which locks the pins in the set projection positions.
