Abstract: A mechanism for selectively securing a cover to a flange of a pressure vessel. The cover and flange each have openings that are aligned when the cover is in position facing the flange. The mechanism includes an anchor plate having a hole therethrough. A piston is slidable in a direction normal to the cover in alignment with the opening therethrough. A stud extends from to the piston with a stud head remote from the piston. Abstract: A power window actuator including an electric motor, a reduction gear train for reducing rotational speed of the motor and a linkage mechanism connected to the gear train opens and closes a pivotable quarter window or a rear side vent. The rotation of the motor is mechanically stopped by structural members totally enclosed in a housing containing the motor and the gear train when the pivotable window comes to a fully opened or a fully closed position. An electric current supply to the motor is automatically discontinued by operation of a controller. An output shaft connected to a final stage gear of the speed reduction mechanism is extended outwardly from both sides of the housing. The linkage mechanism is composed of a pair of first links connected to the extended output shaft and a second link pivotably connected to the first links, so that the first links do not drop off from the output shaft without being fastened by a fastening member. Thus, the assembling process of the linkage mechanism is simplified.
Abstract: Racks (20) supported on a transfer cart (38) in a decontamination area (18) are loaded with contaminated articles. The carts are wheeled to a washer (14) into which the racks of contaminated articles are placed for washing. After washing, the racks are removed from the washer in a preparation and packing or clean room (12) and unloaded. The empty racks are moved through a rack return (28) back to the decontamination area. The rack return includes a rack supporting surface (32) on which glide strips (42) are mounted for sliding the racks from the clean room to the decontamination area. Guide strips (44) guide the racks to a pair of vertically pivoted polycarbonate doors (34) which the racks push open by engaging bumpers (58). After the rack has passed through the doors, a self-closure mechanism (60) closes the doors automatically. The rack return assembly includes stops (76, 78) on both sides for aligning a rack carrying cart of any of a plurality of sizes accurately with the rack return assembly.
Abstract: A pressure vessel according to the present invention includes a housing with a cylindrical upper portion having a plurality of radially extending catch members on its circumference and a lid for mating with the housing with a cylindrical side edge having a plurality of hook-shaped retaining members spaced about its circumference to correspond with the catch members. A control system operates a lift to lower the lid onto the housing. A drive cylinder connected between the lid and the housing is then enabled to rotate the lid relative to the housing about its central axis between a locked position and an unlocked position. Spacers mounted to the inner surfaces of the retaining members act as bearings, guiding the lid as it rotates. As the lid rotates toward its locked position, finger portions of the retaining members cam into underlocking engagement with the catch members to draw the lid onto the housing.
Abstract: A portable remotely controlled automatic door closing apparatus enables the door of a room or office to be closed from a remote location within the room or office by transmitting a signal to an actuator which exerts a force on the door to move it from an opened position to a closed position. The apparatus is free standing and immobilized on the floor in a non-connected relationship thereto between an adjacent wall and the door in its open position. The apparatus is immobilized to prevent slipping by a floor-engaging mechanism, such as an adhesive, an anti-skid rubber material, or suction cups, or carpet engaging projections.

To enclose the structural members for stopping the motor in the housing, a first projection is formed on a final stage gear of the gear train and a second projection on an inside surface of the housing. Both projections abut against each other to stop the motor when the pivotable window is driven to predetermined positions. Thus, the actuator is made small in size and at a low cost.
Abstract: A hydraulic closure system is disclosed for use in a motor vehicle that enables automatic opening and closing, as well as manual closing, of a closure pivotably mounted to an opening frame defining a closure opening in the motor vehicle. The system includes at least one hydraulic actuator assembly attached at opposite ends thereof to the closure and the opening frame, respectively. A motorized hydraulic pump inputs energy to the actuator to move the closure from the opened position to the closed position, and a biased energy storage system inputs energy to the actuator to move the closure from the closed position to the opened position. In a preferred embodiment, the pump is activated by manually generated movement of the closure from the opened position toward the closed position for a prescribed distance in more than a prescribed time. An obstacle detection mechanism detects obstacles interfering with closing of the closure based on monitored pressure in the system.

Abstract: A foot pedal door opener device for side-by-side doors of a cabinet includes a right side foot pedal for opening a left side door of the side-by-side doors, and a left side foot pedal for opening a right side door of the side-by-side doors. The right and left side foot pedals are pivotably attached to pivot points on the cabinet. Actuator members are fixedly attached to the right and left side foot pedals. The actuator members are disposed to engage the opposite doors when a foot pedal is actuated, thereby opening the opposite door. The actuator members extend from one foot pedal toward the other foot pedal, such that a portion of the actuator members are in an overlapping, non-interfering relationship.
Abstract: An electrical window operator for opening and closing a window comprises at least one arm connected pivotally and detachably in a first end with a sash coupling member slidable side within a limited part of the length of the sash, said arm being pivotally connected at the other end with a second coupling member connected with the main frame. An operator housing arranged at the main frame accommodates an elongate drive shaft with a threaded section engaged by a nut element forming part of the second coupling member and an electrical drive unit in axial extension of the drive shaft.
