Publication number: 20130118080Abstract: Door and frame assemblies are disclosed by the present application. In one exemplary embodiment, the a door is connected to a door frame, such that the door is moveable between an open position and a closed position. Activation of a trigger causes a door frame coupling arrangement to couple the door frame to the door in a closed position to thereby inhibit movement of the door relative to the frame. In another exemplary embodiment, a door is coupled to a door frame by a hinge. The hinge is configured to move the door in translation as the door is rotated from the open position to the closed position. For example, the hinge may move the door downward, toward the sill, when the door is moved from the open position to the closed position.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 20, 2012Publication date: May 16, 2013Applicant: THERMA-TRU CORPORATIONInventors: Klaus Fink, Michael Braun

Patent number: 8186729Abstract: A bi-swing gate lock uses an electric actuator to unlatch the gate on request, and a failsafe mode that automatically unlatches the gate during emergencies or power failures. The traplock uses two swing arms that pivot retractable door stops in and out on either side of a closed gate from a stationary 4? post. Loads trying to force open a locked gate are redirected through polyurethane pads on the sides of the retractable door stops directly to the insides of matching pockets within the post. Such loads can flex the swing arms, but significant loads will not reach the swing arm pivot bearings. Keeping the gate locked requires electric power applied to a lock actuator, and the loss of power automatically unlocks the traplock. Power applied to a retraction actuator pushes out the retractable door stops. A sensor detects when the gate returns to a closed position and the lock actuator can be energized once again.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 2008Date of Patent: May 29, 2012Inventor: David Dudley

Publication number: 20120036785Abstract: A vehicle door latch structure is basically provided with a door latch mechanism and a door latch engagement bracket. The door latch mechanism includes a latch release lever that is movably arranged between a rest position and a release position. The door latch engagement bracket defines an opening that is aligned with the latch release lever while the latch release lever is in the rest position such that the latch release lever extends through the opening upon movement of the door latch engagement bracket toward the latch mechanism while the latch release lever is in the rest position, and such that the door latch engagement bracket prevents movement of the latch release lever from the rest position to the release position while the latch release lever is extending through the opening in the door latch engagement bracket.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 12, 2010Publication date: February 16, 2012Applicant: NISSAN TECHNICAL CENTER NORTH AMERICA, INC.Inventors: Kaustubh Bedekar, Jeffery Tobey, Gunnar Mason
