  • Patent number: 5669605
Abstract: There is provided a paper feed roller capable of being used for delivering and feeding paper, which is high in coefficient of friction, has sufficient hardwearing properties with the coefficient of friction not affected by the change in environment of temperature and humidity, is low in ink transferability and is small in change in passage of year of the coefficient of friction of the surface.A coating layer 5 formed of an elastic material such as rubber is formed on an surface of a core material 4 molded of a foamed material such as sponge, and a bonding agent 6 having an elasticity such as denatured silicon is coated on the surface of the coating layer 5 so that ceramic particles 7 are fixed without clearance to provide a paper feed roller 1. Alternatively, the bonding agent 6 is directly coated on the surface of the core material 4 molded of a pliable material such as soft rubber and sponge so that the ceramic particles 7 are fixed without clearance to provide the paper feed roller 9.

  • Patent number: 5433691
Abstract: An elastic roll member that can be suitably used in OA printers, facsimile machines and in the developing unit and the paper feed unit of an electronic copying machine comprises a shaft member having a circular cross section and an elastic member concentrically attached to the outer periphery of the shaft member. The shaft member is provided with a connecting member which is different in cross section from and larger in diameter than the shaft member along its longitudinal direction, so that by forcing the connecting member into a through-hole provided in the elastic member, the shaft member and the elastic member can be integrally combined. The elastic roll member can be manufactured with ease and at low cost as it requires no complicated adhesion process.

  • Patent number: 5292298
Abstract: A heat transfer roll has first and second disc-shaped outer end sections each having a centrally located tubular shaft. An inner tubular body is fitted over the two outer end sections, and a plurality of spiral ribs extend from the first end to the second end around the inner tubular body, and an outer tubular shell is fitted over the spiral ribs to form a plurality of spiral channels. Each of the end sections have one or more passageways therein which are in communication with the bore through the tubular shaft and the spiral channels. One of the outer end sections is adapted to receive a plurality of removable plugs, such that each removable plug when inserted will block the flow of liquid to one of the spiral channels. To clean such a heat transfer roll, all but one channel may be closed such that the remaining open channel may be cleaned.
