    Abstract: The following invention describes a padded coverslip for a long spinal board. The padding may be composed of a foam core that has a waterproof covering. The shape of the pad may vary to allow it to fit onto any adult size long spinal board. Additional sizes of the pad are also included for pediatric spinal boards. Additional integrated padding may be incorporated at the head of the pad in order to elevate the head of the patient to an anatomically neutral position. Emanating from the sides of the padding is an elastic coverslip that would wrap around a spinal board, securing the pad to the board. Openings within the coverslip would correspond with handhold slots along the sides of the spinal boards.

An IV support pole formed of collapsible segments can be attached to the board by a clamp. The pole has a hook on which an IV container can be hung, and an elastic wrap that encircles, stabilizes, and pressurizes the IV container.

A pad (12) is carried by the first pivotal frame (16) and serves as a headrest when the device is in the creeper configuration and a backrest when the device is in the chair configuration. A second pad (13) is hinge connected to the first and second pivotal frames (16, 17) and is maintained horizontal as it translates from the mid-body support of the creeper to a seat for the chair. A third pad (14) is carried by the support frame (15) and serves as a shelf under the second pad (13) when in the chair configuration.

    Abstract: A reclinable ambulance cot used to load a patient into the back of an ambulance is provided. The cot includes a wheeled collapsible undercarriage carrying an articulated bed frame comprised of a leg segment, seat segment, and wheeled back segment. The articulated bed frame may be moved between an inclined, fully-reclined position, a chair position, and a plurality of positions therebetween. A lockable biasing device assists in the transition by urging the bed frame segments from the chair position to the fully-reclined position. The back segment further includes a pair of loading wheels at the ends of side extensions such that when the cot is in the inclined, fully-reclined position the loading wheels are at height sufficient to facilitate loading the reclined cot into the back of an ambulance, and in particular, into the back of an ambulance having a high transport deck.

    Abstract: A removable foot support provides vertical stability for trauma victims carried on spine boards. The foot support is a unitary L-shaped structure having a vertical section, and a horizontal section at right angles to the vertical section. The vertical section is provided with two or more pins, which mate with sleeves inserted into the spine board. The mating sleeves and pins are provided with locking means comprised of detent means or cotter pins. In use the trauma victim is first placed on the board, and the foot rest is then attached. A tether chain or cable may be used to loosely affix the foot rest to the board.

The invention comprises a transparent or semi-transparent, generally tubular enclosure, having two opposite ends. Secured to each of the two opposite ends of this transparent or semi-transparent, tubular enclosure are a pair of end walls. At least one semi-rigid support band extends around a portion of the outer periphery of the generally tubular enclosure. A base mat assembly, comprising at least a first flexible, flat sheet having a top side and a bottom side, is also a part of the invention. The top side of this first flat sheet is secured to the generally tubular enclosure. The bottom side of this sheet is secured to at least one reinforcing strap. Each of these one or more reinforcing straps has lateral ends, and the lateral ends of these straps are formed into loops.

The stretcher includes a frame and a patient support surface, as well as module bays provided under the frame or a module carrier removably mounted on the frame. The several medical care modules each have the same dimensions and configuration so that they are modularly interchangeable to be received in any one of the module bays or on the module carrier. When the medical care modules are slidingly pushed into the module bays, electrical contacts are engaged to connect the modules with an electrical power supply and a data transfer bus, through the stretcher.

A pair of legs extend away from the tray and include attachment members for engaging the rails of the stretcher. The attachment members may include anti-skidding members providing frictional resistance between the attachment members and the rails. The legs are secured to the rails through a flexible strap. The flexible strap may be wrapped around the rail and secured. The flexible strap may also be used in conjunction with a hook which engages the rail. The flexible strap is then secured to hold the stretcher table assembly in place over the stretcher.
