Abstract: An infant mattress fits safely in a crib without any gap between the mattress and the walls or bars of the crib. A ring of memory foam surrounds the supporting foam layers of the mattress and forms a snug fit with the vertical bars of the crib regardless of whether the dimensions of the particular crib or mattress vary from their standard sizes. The memory foam ring intentionally renders the infant mattress somewhat larger than the inner dimensions of the crib. The ring compresses when the mattress is placed in a crib in which opposing side bars are separated by a distance that is smaller than the mattress width. The ring is formed by pouring foam into a rectangular mold around the supporting foam layers. Where the mattress includes pocket coils on the supporting foam layers, the ring of memory foam conforms to the outer row of pocket coils.

Abstract: A crib liner and method of lining an infant crib are provided that greatly reduce the risk of an infant injury resulting from an infant's arm or legs extending through the slats or rails or a crib. The crib liner is provided with a plurality of panels that can have a perforated section and a cushioned section. The plurality of panels may be separated into individual panels by a plurality of stabilizers. The crib liner may be attached to the crib by at least one fastener. The fastener may be located in any area that allows the crib liner to be removably secured attached to the crib.

Abstract: Bassinet assemblies and related methods are disclosed. An example bassinet assembly includes an upper frame, a first support arm and a second support arm coupled to the upper frame and a floorboard coupled or adjacent to the first support arm and the second support arm. The example bassinet assembly also includes a support liner coupled between the floorboard and the upper frame and a cover disposed over at least a portion of each of the upper frame, the support liner and the floorboard.

Abstract: A play yard assembly comprises a frame and a bassinet. The frame includes a frame head, a frame tail, and left and right side portions connected between the frame head and the frame tail to define an accommodating space thereamong. The bassinet has a head end, a tail end, a bed bottom connected between the head end and the tail end. The head end is positionable relative to the frame at a first height position and a second height position higher than the first height position. The bed bottom has a first end portion connected to the tail end, and a second end portion connected to the head end. The second end portion of the bed bottom is higher than that of the first end portion of the bed bottom when the head end is disposed at the second height position.

Abstract: A sleeper for infants is described. The sleeper has four short legs, a frame supported by the legs and a bassinette hanging from the frame. The sleeper can rest on its legs for use in a stand-alone state, or be mounted on a playard for use as a bedside sleeper. When mounted on a playard, the sleeping surface of the sleeper has approximately the same height as an adult's bed.

Abstract: Infant-care furniture includes a playyard and a playyard accessory unit coupled to the playyard. The playyard accessory unit includes an accessory frame and a case coupled to the accessory frame, and further includes a changer shell coupled to an upper pedestal section that is coupled to the playyard. The accessory unit further includes a storage shell and a hamper shell coupled to the changer shell.

Abstract: A bedding apparatus may include a frame, a fabric cover, and a liquid containment member. The frame may include first and second members coupled to a base for pivotable motion relative thereto between first and second positions. The base may define an opening surrounded by the first and second members when the first and second members are in the first position. The fabric cover may be coupled to the first and second members and may be maintained in a taught condition by the first and second members when the first and second members are in the first position. The liquid containment member may be disposed below the cover and includes sidewalls and a bottom wall attached to the sidewalls. The sidewalls are attached to the base and extend through the opening. The sidewalls may include a mesh material allowing fluid-flow therethrough. The bottom wall may include a liquid-impermeable material.

Abstract: A play yard for children, including a rigid support frame and a removable, flexible liner. The frame includes one or more fasteners configured to engage the liner in order to form a bounded play yard space. By securing the liner to the frame via the fasteners, a user is able to easily secure the liner to the frame for use and remove the liner from the frame for washing or replacement.

An example includes a lower frame having a collapsed position and an erected position; an upper frame having a collapsed position and an erected position; and a plurality of posts joining the upper frame and the lower frame. Abstract: A crib wherein one end of the bed portion of the crib is hinged and the other end of the bed portion of the crib includes handles which protrude through the bedposts of the crib. Holes in the bedpost correspond to holes in the handles so that, when the unhinged end of bed portion is lifted vertically, a pin may be used to secure the unhinged portion, providing a desired angle of elevation to the bed portion of the crib.

Abstract: A continuously height adjustable mattress support and apparatus therefor is disclosed. The mattress support is vertically displaceable by means of at least one drive unit for applying a vertical force to a corresponding solely vertically displaceable driven component and is stabilized during vertical displacement by at least one stabilizing means connected thereto. The driven component is connected to, or is in supporting relation with, the mattress support, so that a height of the mattress support above a floor surface is settable and continuously adjustable by means of at least one actuator associated with the at least one drive unit. In one embodiment, a locking device for preventing displacement of the mattress support following inadvertent actuation of the at least one drive unit is employed.

Abstract: The adjustable bracket for a crib mattress platform includes a first embodiment having a slotted plate (26) attached to each rear corner post (20), (22) of the crib (10). Each plate (26) includes a series of lands (30) extending from the slot (28). A mattress platform corner bracket (42) attaches to each rear corner of the mattress platform (24), with a pin (50) extending from each corner bracket (42) and engaging the slot (28) of the corresponding corner post plate (26). The pin (50) selectively engages one land (30) of the corner post plate slot (28) to set the mattress platform height. A second embodiment includes two sliding sleeves (102) installed upon spaced apart vertical slats (104) of the crib rear wall (14). A mattress platform attachment bracket extends pivotally from each sleeve. The crib wall slats (104) have a series of receptacles (132), with locking pins (114) extending from the assemblies and engaging the receptacles (132, 134) to fix the height of the mattress platform as desired.

Abstract: A baby crib includes a frame structure, a support base located at a bottom of the frame, the support base including at least one opening, and a cushion pad disposed on the support base, the cushion pad including at least one strap disposed at a position corresponding to the opening. As the cushion pad is securely held with the support base of the baby crib, injuries caused by accidental lift of the cushion pad can be prevented.

The bassinet includes an enclosure substantially surrounding an inner space of the bassinet adapted to receive a baby, the enclosure being upwardly opened and having a sidewall provided with a side opening communicating with the inner space, and a movable board disposed at a bottom of the bassinet and adapted to support the weight of the baby placed thereon. The board is operable to slide through the side opening between a first position where the board and the baby placed thereon lie inside the inner space, and a second position where the board extends outward through the side opening so that the board and the baby placed thereon lie substantially outside the inner space.

When the crib is in an open position, the first connecting member and the second connecting member are generally unfolded. When the crib is in a folded position, the first connecting member and the second connecting member are folded.

The enclosure apparatus is operated by linear movement of the hub assembly.

Abstract: A baby carrier with an adjustable back plate comprises a main body, a back plate, a belt and a belt adjustment mechanism. The main body has a bottom wall, two long side walls and two short side walls. The back plate is pivoted on the bottom wall for support baby-occupant in a selected inclination. The belt has a distal end affixed to one side of the main body and an adjustable length for passing across underneath the back plate for retaining the back plate in the selected inclination angle. The belt adjustment mechanism is mounted on the opposite side of the main body for adjusting the adjustable length of the belt by pulling the free end thereof and pressing the back plate downwardly just under the instinct of the care-giver.

Abstract: In one aspect, the present disclosure is directed to an assembly for attachment to a crib. The assembly may include a cross member configured to span a width of the crib. In addition, the assembly may include a substantially U-shaped cross member connector configured to receive one end of the cross member. The removable bed includes a bed body detachably mounted in the playpen body of the playpen, a second zipper mounted on the bed body, and a pull tab mounted on the second zipper and detachably connected with the first zipper of the playpen. Thus, the first zipper of the playpen and the second zipper of the removable bed are connected or disconnected by operation of the pull tab of the removable bed so that the removable bed can be mounted on and detached from the playpen easily and quickly, thereby facilitating the user assembling and disassembling the removable bed.

Abstract: A bed configured to contain a subject, such as a human infant is disclosed. The bed includes a womb-shaped bumper capable of constricting or squeezing the subject. The bumper is adjustable between a constricting configuration and a non-constricting configuration. An adjustment mechanism, and optionally, a fastener may be used to maintain the bumper in the constricting configuration.

Abstract: An easy-access over-the-bed bassinet especially useful in hospitals for new mothers and babies. The bassinet has a barrier to prevent the infant from rolling off a sleeping platform, and one portion or wall of the barrier is convertible to permit a mother to reach in and cradle the infant, for breast-feeding for example. The convertible portion has a restoring mechanism such as a spring force or weighted arm to transform it back to its original barrier position upon removal of the weight of the mother's arms. The convertible portion may be a wall surrounding the sleeping platform that translates vertically into a frame, or pivot about a bottom edge, or pivot underneath the sleeping platform. The entire sleeping platform may tilt about a horizontal axis, and may rotate about a vertical axis for ease of positioning relative to the mother.

Abstract: A crib rail bumper is formed with a cushioning pad, a fabric cover dimensioned to encompass the pad, and reversible fastening means on opposite sides of the cover for securing the cover and pad to the crib rail. The reversible fastening means is preferably a reversible zipper. The crib rail bumper is compressible along the length dimension so as to encompass crib rails of varying lengths. The cushioning pad has a major length dimension, a minor width dimension, and a thickness dimension, the dimensions being selected for encompassing a crib rail. The reversible fastener allows multiple bumpers to be attached together to encompass wide rails or a plurality of rails.

Abstract: A joining device is provided for rails of a baby bed, in which the joining connects two adjacent rail tubes of the rail, where an end of each of the rail tubes is pivotally connected to the joining device. The joining device is formed as a saddle part in a shape having two upstanding side walls and an arched portion connected between top edges of the two side walls. The joining device further has a smooth contact face formed on each of the two sides of the arched portion and a smoothly trimmed face connected to the smooth contact face, so that the tube walls of the rail tubes are contacted with the smooth contact faces when the rail tubes are pivotally rotated close to the two sides of the arched portion.

The carrier holder is connected to the support part above the crib frame. The carrier holder can hold an infant carrier of a safety seat in a detachable way. A crib includes a bed frame and the infant-carrier docking station. The infant-carrier docking station is disposed across on opposite handrails of the bed frame. Therefore, the invention is convenient for a caregiver to directly move the infant carrier from any place else to the infant-carrier docking station without waking up the baby sleeping on the infant carrier.

Abstract: A apparatus with an adjustable height mattress can include a crib frame with a stationary support frame secured to it. The mattress rests generally on an elevator frame which slides up and down with respect to the stationary frame. The crib further includes a height adjusting mechanism for adjusting height of the elevator frame, an operating mechanism for operating and locking the height adjusting mechanism and a leveling mechanism for maintaining the level of elevator frame horizontally stable. The mattress height can be adjusted not only on a semi-permanent basis, but can also be varied as needed. The mattress can be set high when a parent is placing a child in the crib and can be lowered with the child on it for the child's safety. The elevator frame may also be manually raised with the child on it via an external handle.

Abstract: A child containment system includes a child containment structure defining an interior space to be occupied by an infant and including an infant support surface within the interior space, and an infant support unit configured for use in a first operational mode in which the infant support unit is coupled to the child containment structure and disposed within the interior space above the infant support surface. The infant support unit and the child containment structure include respective connectors to secure the infant support unit in the first operational mode. The infant support unit includes a frame configured for use of the infant support unit in a second operational mode in which the infant support unit is independent of the child containment structure.

Abstract: A protective crib liner for a child includes a full protective liner configured to surround an inner length and height of the crib and to wrap-around a top perimeter portion of the crib. Up to eight fasteners may be affixed to the liner to secure it to the crib. Tethers attach child development items to the liner and extend through the liner to tie around a portion of the crib. The items are attached at various heights to stimulate the child's mind, motor functions and senses. A pocket hanger attaches to the top of the liner and hangs on a top perimeter of the crib to secure the pocket hanger and the liner to the crib. A method facilitating the child's development includes attaching the development items inside the liner at various heights the child may reach thereby encouraging the child to move up, down and across in the crib.

Abstract: A bassinet for mounting on a play yard frame is supported to provide a swinging movement of the bassinet relative to the play yard. The bassinet is suspended from four detachable connector mounts that slide over the upper frame member of the play yard frame by three flexible support members and a single rigid support member that is operatively connected to a motor housed within a motorized connector mount to drive the swinging motion for the bassinet. The movement induced into the bassinet is controlled by the four support members to keep the bottom surface of the bassinet at a horizontal orientation throughout the swinging movement. The bottom board of the play yard is formed in segments which can be reconfigured to fit in the bassinet. The end segment can be folded below the remaining segments, or in the alternative removed, to affect the reconfiguration for the bassinet structure.

Abstract: A changing table is mounted on the vertical frame members of a play yard by mounting members located along the transverse centerline of the changing table. The frame of the changing table is formed in an oval shape to eliminate any portion thereof that would be oriented generally parallel to the upper frame members of the play yard. The vertical frame member is formed with a linear upper portion and a curved lower portion. The linear upper portions enable the mounting members to be telescopically received for height adjustment of the changing table. The curved lower portions positions the foot members at the lower ends of the vertical frame members outboard of the upper ends on which the changing table is mounted to enhance stability.

Abstract: An infant seat comprising an upper torso support, a lower torso support pivotally articulated to the upper torso support and a seat supporting structure; at least one of the upper torso support or the lower torso support is pivotally articulated to the seat supporting structure, the seat further comprising a converting mechanism for converting the seat between at least an angular position in which the upper torso support is inclined with respect to the lower torso support, and a planar position in which the upper torso support and the lower torso support are substantially co-planar.

Abstract: An infant or baby crib is provided that eliminates the vertical slotted members normally present on the sidewalls and end-walls, and replaces these with a planar fabric, leather or canvas member that spans each sidewall or end wall, respectively. The planar member is generally flexible to prevent fixed pinch points between rigid beams or slats that have now been identified as creating a strangulation hazard. Canvas or leather side panels form a large central orifice in which a clear plastic panel forms a viewing window, thereby allowing the infant to see through the sidewall.

Abstract: A crib frame includes a main frame, a mattress support frame located at the bottom end of the main frame with two width sides each having two anchor holes, and two sets of symmetrical first and second connection racks. The first and second connection racks respectively include a first bracing plate and a second bracing plate, a first upright plate and a second upright plate extended respectively and horizontally from the first and second bracing plates, and a first support plate and a second support plate extended respectively and vertically from a lower end of the first and second upright plates. The first and second support plates have respectively a first elongate adjustment slot and a second elongate adjustment slot. The first and second elongate adjustment slots are coupled with two anchor holes, thereby the mattress support frame with varying specifications can be at desired locations to improve safety.

Abstract: A baby crib includes a bed frame structure, a fabric member mounted on the bed frame structure to define a surrounding wall around the bed frame structure, and a plurality of positioning posts mounted on the fabric member. The bed frame structure includes a plurality of upright tubes, each of which has a tube wall defining a receiving hole and having a slit that extends along the length of the tube wall and that is in spatial communication with the receiving hole. The positioning posts are inserted respectively into the receiving holes in the upright tubes. The fabric member is clamped between each upright tube and a corresponding positioning post, and extends outward through the slit in each upright tube.
