This is achieved by using a material which has a water vapor diffusion resistance which is dependent on the ambient humidity and which also has adequate tensile strength and tear resistance.

Abstract: A resilient fibrous insulation blanket is compression-cut longitudinally at one and typically a plurality of laterally spaced apart locations to form a form a pre-cut fibrous insulation blanket having a plurality of blanket sections that can be separated from each other by hand. The compression cutting of the blanket to form the blanket sections causes a first major surface of the blanket to become temporarily deformed and destabilized. When the blanket is faced, the facing is applied to the other major surface of the blanket while the first major surface is still deformed. Where the blanket is formed from a wider blanket, the wider blanket is at least partially cut prior to the compression-cutting operation to reduce lateral stresses in the blanket when the blanket is compression-cut.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a device and method for the creation of a anchor points at any location in a wall through the injection of a curable anchor material into the cavity behind the wall. Once cured, the newly created anchor point will allow the wall to support heavy loads and undergo repeated stress over long periods of time without being damaged. The device of the present disclosure produces an anchor point that is at least as strong as the best methods currently available, yet is simpler and more economical to use than the methods currently available.

Abstract: Improved insulating structural cores for use in self-aligned and leveled insulated drystacked block. Interlocking tongues (10a, 10b, 10c, 10d) join with corresponding receiving recesses (14a, 14b, 14c, 14d) when block and cores are laid in vertical succession. The interlocking tongues (10a, 10b, 10c, 10d) and receiving recesses (14a, 14b, 14c, 14d) connect to create a continuous thermal barrier between each block course. Abstract: The thermal insulation pad has a compressible insulation strip, a top flexible cover and a bottom flexible cover. A stapling flange and a flashing flange extend widthwise from the top and bottom cover strips respectively along a first side of the insulation strip and are sealed to each other along a bond line near the first side. An interior flange extends widthwise from the top cover strip, along the other side of the insulation strip. The flanges are usable to seal the thermal insulation pad against the weather and air barrier on the outside of a building wall and against the vapour barrier on the inside of a building wall. The flanges extending from the top cover strip are usable to stretch the top cover strip over the insulation strip to form a cushioned liner around a wall opening.

Abstract: An insulation sheet for insulating a wall, floor, ceiling or roof cavity is flexible, compressible and resilient and has lateral edges extending the length of the sheet. The lateral edges of the sheet are formed with contours along the lengths of the lateral edges, which with the flexibility, compressibility and resilience of the insulation sheet, increase the effective width of the sheet, relative to a conventional insulation sheet of the same length, width, thickness and density with straight lateral edges extending perpendicular between the major surfaces of the conventional sheet, with no or substantially no increase in the amount of insulation material forming the sheet relative to the insulation material used in the conventional insulation sheet. The contours of the lateral edges are formed by reciprocally oscillating or angling cutting blades in a direction transverse to the feed of a sheet past the cutting blades.

Abstract: An elongated fibrous insulation blanket is pre-cut for custom fitting the insulation blanket into wall, floor, ceiling and roof cavities of different widths formed by the framework of a building. The blanket has one or more cuts extending for the length of the blanket which separate the blanket into two or more longitudinally extending sections. Adjacent sections of the blanket are joined together along the cut(s) by separable adhesive connectors which hold together the sections of the blanket for handling, but are separable by hand along the cut(s) so that the blanket can be handled as a unit for insulating a cavity having a predetermined width or easily separated by hand into two or more sections at a cut for insulating a cavity having a lesser width. The pre-cut insulation blanket may have a facing sheet, overlaying and bonded to a major surface of the blanket, that is separable by hand along the cut(s).
