Abstract: A method of producing a tire mix, including a first mixing step, in which a mix contains at least one cross-linkable unsaturated-chain polymer base, 10 to 100 phr of silica, and 1 to 20 phr of a silane bonding agent in the trialkoxymercaptoalkyl-silane class; and a final mixing step, in which a curing system is added to the mix. The silane bonding agent is used in adsorbed form on 0.5 to 2 phr of zinc oxide, and on 5 to 15 phr of carbon black. At the first mixing step, the mix contains 1 to 5 phr of one or more fatty acid derivatives, and, at the final mixing step, 1 to 2 phr of zinc oxide is added to the mix. The fatty acid derivatives are derived from condensation of a fatty acid, having a carbon number of 16 to 20, with an alcohol having a carbon number of 2 to 6, or with a primary or secondary amine having a carbon number of 2 to 6.

Abstract: Portland Cement-based concretes and mortars exhibit significant reduction in shrinkage cracking when combined with Magnesium Oxide (MgO), Shrinkage Reduction Admixtures (SRA) and Super Absorbent Polymers (SAP). However, MgO is a solid that reacts with water, SRA is a liquid, and SAP if not added properly could pull water out of the system and thus increase shrinkage. Unique admixture blends used as supplementary cementing materials that do not significantly affect concrete or cement strength properties of Portland cement itself address such issues. Proper ratios of MgO, SRA and/or SAP perform better against crack reduction when compared to commonly used Expansive Cements (EC).

Abstract: Plasticizing system usable for the plasticizing of a diene rubber composition. The plasticizing system is based on an MES or TDAE oil and a polylimonene resin. The rubber composition has an improved resistance to abrasion and to cuts, said composition being based on at least a diene elastomer, a reinforcing filler, a cross-linking system and a plasticizing system comprising between 5 and 35 phr of an MES or TDAE oil, and between 5 and 35 phr of a polylimonene resin (phr=parts by weight per hundred of elastomer). Advantageously, this plasticizing system furthermore comprises an unsaturated (C12-C22) fatty acid triester of glycerol, preferably a glycerol trioleate. A process is disclosed for preparing such a composition. The composition can be used for the manufacture of a finished article or a semi-finished product intended for a suspension system of a motor vehicle, in particular a tire or a tread of such a tire.
