Abstract: A self-curable coating composition for cathode-precipitating electrodeposition is disclosed which essentially comprises a water-dispersible resin having a carbon-carbon double bond and a tertiary amino group and an epoxy resin having a teritary amino group and an unsaturated group of the formula ##STR1## The two resins are neutralized by an acid to render the composition water-soluble or water-dispersible.
Abstract: The present invention relates to N-methylol amide-containing resinous compositions and the methods of preparing them. Aqueous dispersions of the instant resinous composition containing N-methylol amides in amounts sufficient to impart self-curing at comparatively low temperatures are disclosed. The aqueous dispersions of the instant resinous compositions are useful as coating compositions; they are particularly suited to electrodeposition.

Abstract: An intimate blend of a melt-fabricable tetrafluoroethylene copolymer resin and graphite reinforcing fibers having an untreated surface is obtained by intimately blending the resin and fibers in a mixture of water and a selected water-miscible organic solvent. Composites molded from the blend have good resistance to steam and alkali.
Abstract: This invention provides a graft copolymer of at least one acrylic monomer and a random copolymer of a styrene and allyl alcohol, in which at least about 8 percent of the total weight of said graft copolymer is derived from acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, or both. It also provides anionic aqueous dispersions of such graft copolymers and coating compositions containing them.
Abstract: This invention provides a graft copolymer of at least one acrylic monomer and polystyrene, in which at least about 8 percent of the total weight of said graft copolymer is derived from acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, or both. It also provides anionic aqueous dispersions of such graft copolymers and coating compositions containing them.
Abstract: This invention provides a graft copolymer of at least one acrylic monomer and a random copolymer of a styrene and hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylate, in which at least about 8 percent of the total weight of said graft copolymer is derived from acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, or both. It also provides anionic aqueous dispersions of such graft copolymers and coating compositions containing them.
Abstract: Disclosed are novel organic pigments adapted particularly for use as fillers for paper. The organic pigments are finely divided particles obtained by graft copolymerizing an ethylenically unsaturated monomer, such as styrene, onto a water-soluble cationic prepolymer in an aqueous solution and in the presence of a free-radical polymerization initiator.
Abstract: It has been found that the addition of small amounts of a benzoate or acetate ester of a polyfunctional hydroxy containing compound to an olefinic nitrile copolymer composition greatly increases the flowability and processibility of these thermoplastic copolymers.

Abstract: The invention provides a novel resin composition based on a polyphenylenesulfide resin which can be molded into shaped articles imparted with remarkably improved impact strength, cracking resistance and heat shock resistance. The inventive resin composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a polyphenylenesulfide resin, from 10 to 300 parts by weight of an inorganic filler and from 1 to 100 parts by weight of a fluorine-containing rubber such as a copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene having specified Mooney viscosity.
Abstract: Fluoropolymer dispersions containing colloidal particles of a partially modified tetrafluoroethylene polymer, the fluoropolymer resin powder obtained therefrom by coagulation and a process for the preparation of the dispersions mentioned are described. The particles have a three-shell particle structure, the particle core and the other particle shell consisting of a tetrafluoroethylene polymer provided with a modifying fluoro-olefinic comonomer and the inner particle shell consisting of tetrafluoroethylene homopolymer. Fluoro-olefins, perfluoro-olefins, halogenofluoro-olefins and completely or partially fluorinated vinyl ethers are used as the modifying comonomers. The preparation is effected by the seed technique or intermediate letting down method, the modified core being formed in the first phase and the modifying comonomer being subsequently metered into the continuing tetrafluoroethylene polymerization in the second phase.

Abstract: Interpolymer latex and process for the preparation thereof, in which the latexes are aqueous dispersions of particles having a diameter which is essentially between 0.1 and 1 .mu.m of an interpolymer comprising a copolymer A of butadiene, styrene and at least one ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid and a polymer B of bis(2-chloroethyl)vinylphosphonate which is at least partly grafted onto copolymer A. They can be used in particular as binders, more particularly in the paper coating industry and in the textile industry.
Abstract: The physical properties of a nitrile barrier resin, particularly the tensile modulus, heat distortion temperature and processability, are improved by including therein a carboxylic acid processing aid and an alkaline filler material.
