Abstract: The invention relates to a dental composition comprising a hardenable powder to be used in a process for retraction of dental tissue. The invention also relates to a kit of parts comprising the dental composition comprising a hardenable powder, a hardening agent, optionally a handpiece of a powder jet device, optionally a powder jet device, and optionally retraction caps. In a further aspect, the invention relates to a method for retracting dental tissue comprising the steps of applying a dental composition comprising a hardenable powder with a powder jet device into the sulcus between soft and hard dental tissue, applying a composition comprising a hardening agent either before or after the previous step, leaving the dental composition in the sulcus for a time sufficient to effect retraction of the soft dental tissue and removing the dental composition from the sulcus.

  • Patent number: 7799885
Abstract: A curable composition and a process for using the curable composition within a grating-coupled waveguide (GCW) sensor are disclosed. The composition can be used for facile replication of optical components, specifically those used in a label-independent detection system where operation of the waveguide is dependent on the detailed formation of micro and nano size patterns. The photo or electron beam curable composition has low viscosity (?500 cPs) and cures to an optically clear material with high glass transition temperature (?70° C.), low shrinkage on cure, low outgassing, and low extractables.

Abstract: Disclosed is a pressure sensitive adhesive composition characterized by containing an ionic liquid and a polymer which contains, as a monomer unit, 0.1-10% by weight of a (meth)acrylate with a hydroxyalkyl group having 3-12 carbon atoms. The present invention provides a pressure sensitive adhesive composition which is excellent in antistatic property of a no-electrification-prevented adherend upon peeling, and has reduced staining of an adherend and is excellent in adhesion reliance. Also disclosed is an antistatic pressure sensitive adhesive sheet or surface-protecting film prepared using the composition. • Publication number: 20100216958
Abstract: Isobutene, isoprene, and butadiene are obtained from mixtures of C4 and/or C5 olefins by dehydrogenation. The C4 and/or C5 olefins can be obtained by dehydration of C4 and C5 alcohols, for example, renewable C4 and C5 alcohols prepared from biomass by thermochemical or fermentation processes. Isoprene or butadiene can be polymerized to form polymers such as polyisoprene, polybutadiene, synthetic rubbers such as butyl rubber, etc. in addition, butadiene can be converted to monomers such as methyl methacrylate, adipic acid, adiponitrile, 1,4-butadiene, etc. which can then be polymerized to form nylons, polyesters, polymethylmethacrylate etc.

  • Publication number: 20100196824
Abstract: An alkali-soluble resin is provided. The alkali-soluble resin is prepared using a polyfunctional thiol compound as a chain transfer agent. The alkali-soluble resin has a lower viscosity than a resin having the same molecular weight. Further provided is a negative-type photosensitive resin composition comprising the alkali-soluble resin as a binder resin. The use of the alkali-soluble resin lowers the overall viscosity of the photosensitive resin composition to effectively reduce the height of a stepped portion of a photoresist pattern using a small amount of the photosensitive resin composition.
