Abstract: A device is for compressing waste. The device includes: a waste bag suspension member formed with an upper portion around which an opening of a flexible waste bag may be spanned; a lid movable between an open position, wherein waste may be added to a waste bag through the upper portion of the waste bag suspension member, and a closed position, wherein the lid covers the upper portion of the waste bag suspension member so that an at least partially closed volume may be formed between the lid and the waste bag; and a suction member adapted to evacuate air from the at least partially closed volume. The lid is perforated so that the suction device may evacuate the air through the perforation(s) in the lid. There is also disclosed a system for compressing waste as well as a method for operating the system.

Abstract: A garbage can provided with an airtight means for preventing odor leakage is provided. In the garbage can, an inner basket covered with a garbage bag is raised and pressurized so that an upper end of the inner basket is in close contact with an airtight part of an upper cap, thereby preventing garbage odors from leaking via a gap between the upper cap and the inner basket, and also the basket is automatically raised and lowered by simply opening and closing a side cover without any separate operation by a user, thereby increasing convenience.
Abstract: An apparatus to charge and seal in contents is provided with a supporting portion for containers, holding portions for seal plugs, airtight chambers, a pressure gas supplier and a vacuum pump. The container has a receiving chamber and it is to be put on the supporting portion being the chamber is charged with contents and being the chamber's opening portion faced upward. The seal plug is for sealing the opening portion. The airtight chamber is composed of a main portion and a cap portion. The main and cap portions freely move relatively and freely contact tightly, then they surround the supporting and the holding portions in airtight condition. Further, the supporting portion and the main portion freely move relatively in airtight condition, so as the holding portion and the cap portion do, and the supporting portion and the holding portion are freely separated from each other.
Abstract: A refuse compactor is disclosed that includes a flexible bag of non-permeable material having an opening through which refuse can be placed in the bag. The bag is supported in an upright position to receive refuse through the openings in the bag. A lid is positioned to close the opening in the bag, as the pressure in the bag is reduced below atmospheric pressure periodically to crush and compact the refuse in the bag. The pressure is reduced by pumping air from the bag through a flexible hose that extends to the bottom of the bag to that any liquid collected in the bottom of the bag will be moved also.
