For example, a ventilation module can be provided and configured to dilute vapors of the beverage liquid. Further, a chilling module can be provided and configured to reduce or maintain a reduced temperature of the beverage liquid. Further, a capture module can be provided and configured to dilute stray beverage liquid. The ventilation module, the chilling module, and the capture module can cooperate to define a non-hazardous zone encompassing the beverage container. This can allow non-hazardous rated electrical components to operate proximate and within the atmosphere associating the alcohol product during filling.

    Abstract: A cylindrical plug made of elastomeric material is introduced into a cylindrical cartridge. The rim of the cartridge is swagged-in to reduce the diameter of its opening to one-third of the cartridge internal diameter and of the closely matching plug external diameter. The cartridge is held in a chamber. A tube slidingly passing through the wall of the chamber comes in contact with the plug, and holds it within the container while the chamber is filled with a highly pressurized fluid. As the cartridge is filled with the pressurized fluid the plug is tightly held against the internal end of the tube. The tube is partially withdrawn drawing the plug against the swagged opening of the cartridge. As the tube continues to be withdrawn its internal open end is separated from the plug, and pressurized fluid begins escaping through the tube indicating that the cartridge is filled. The pressurized fluid can now be evacuated from the chamber.

The processing is all carried out within the inert atmosphere allowing an efficient, economical and safe cork extraction and insertion without promotion of oxidization of the wine.

After the container is filled, the fill tube is withdrawn and enclosed in its housing, the lid is transferred back onto the rim and heat sealed in place. The fitment is then unclamped to end the filling cycle.

After the germfree chamber and the interior of a filling head forming a part of the filling valve assembly have been sterilized, a bag is placed on or over the weighing platform, with its capped spout caught by a spout carrier arm, which is supported on the weighing platform for both linear up-and-down motion and pivotal motion about a vertical axis. Following the removal of the cap from the spout by the cap remover assembly, the arm carries the spout to a position under the filling valve assembly and holds the spout against the filling head.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for filling petri dishes include the features of situating a stack of empty petri dishes at a dish-drop station where the stack rests with the lowermost petri dish of the stack on a stationary support. A moving structure engages this lowermost petri dish and moves it beyond the stationary support to a filling station, and during this movement of this lowermost petri dish to the filling station a lower dish member of the petri dish drops down from an upper lid member thereof and remains spaced beneath the upper lid member while being supported by a movable support which carries the lower dish member to the filling station. At the filling station a nozzle of a pump becomes situated in the space between the upper lid member and the lower dish member of the petri dish and fills a given quantity of agar into the lower dish member, whereupon this latter member and the upper lid member spaced thereover are moved to an elevating station.

    Abstract: An apparatus for liquid filling a flexible collapsible container in the form of a plastic pouch for packaging wine is disclosed. The pouch has a pouring spout and a closure for the spout. The apparatus comprises a base for firmly holding the spout and a frame movable relative to the spout. The frame supports a closure removal head and a liquid fill head, either of which may be brought into engagement with the spout upon movement of the frame. The closure removal head is adapted to grip the closure and, upon movement of the frame, remove the closure from the spout. The liquid fill head is adapted to apply a vacuum pump output to the spout to evacuate the pouch, apply liquid to fill the pouch and supply nitrogen to purge contaminants from the pouch. All operations are performed without the need to move the pouch.
