  • Publication number: 20140196402
Abstract: In order to insert at least two zick-zack-extending cords (1) between two adjacent glass panels (2, 3, 4), in order to maintain the glass panels (2, 3, 4) at a distance from each other, cord guiding heads (20) which can be moved up and down on the front side of the front glass panel (2, 3) are provided. In order to move each guide head up and down, a length of the cord is placed on the glass panel for each guiding head. Gripping elements (14) are provided in the region of the lower edge of the glass panel, to maintain the cords (1) by forming loops (5) which are provided below the lower edge of the glass panels (2, 3, 4), the guiding heads (20) being displaced along the glass panels (2, 3, 4) up and down again and forming another length of cord (1).

  • Publication number: 20080236099
Abstract: Packaging for electrical equipment is disclosed in which metal electrically conductive staples are stapled—in contrast to tacked—through the packaging to provide an electrical path between the inside and the outside of the packaging. On the inside of the packaging, each staple clutches and is electrically connected to a wire that is connected to a jack on the electrical equipment. This provides an electrical path between the outside of the packaging and the electrical equipment. When the electrical equipment is to be tested or configured, the testing tool is connected to the staples on the outside of the packaging with spring-load clips. This provides as many electrical paths between the testing tool and the electrical equipment as necessary or desirable and for very little cost.

  • Patent number: 7007358
Abstract: An improved mechanism feeds loops or ties into clip attachment apparatus such as a clipper. The loops preferably have tie portions, the carrier may be a tape, and the loops should be in substantially equidistant series on the carrier. The carrier passes around rollers and a dancer, and along a stationary plate. Strip plates are preferably pivotally mounted adjacent the stationary plate. A loop and carrier drive indexes the loops on the carrier toward the clip attachment apparatus. A strip plate drive pivots the strip plates to and from positions in which the strip plates strip a loop adjacent the clip attachment apparatus at least partially from the carrier. The strip plate drive pivots the strip plates to catch the loop adjacent the clip attachment apparatus between the strip plates and pull the loop at least partially from the carrier.

  • Patent number: 6862866
Abstract: Resealable zipper plastic bags have upwardly protruding support members on each side of the bag mouth which are engaged within downwardly opening channels of two opposed indexer assemblies. With the bag mouth under tension, a slider assembly engages the bag slider, moves it to a fully closed position, then advances the slider to a fully open position. The indexer assemblies are moved toward each other to relieve tension on the bag mouth and cause the mouth to splay open. An insert plate is inserted and rotated to spread the bag mouth for introduction of product through a product chute. Once full, the chute and spreader assembly are withdrawn, tension is applied to the bag mouth, and the slider assembly moves the zipper slider to a fully closed position. The bag support members are then released from the indexer assemblies and the product filled bag is discharged from the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6824629
Abstract: A device and method of use for applying twist-ties onto flexible packages on an assembly line. Each package has a front panel including an exterior surface. Each twist-tie is a strip of material having a first face. The apparatus comprises a glue applicator (e.g., a spray head), a supply (e.g., reel) of twist-tie material, a carrier (e.g., channel shaped head including magnets), and a package support (e.g., conveyor). The package support holds each package at a first station in an orientation whereupon the exterior surface of the front panel is oriented vertically. The carrier is arranged to be oriented in a first horizontal position for receipt of a respective twist-tie thereon so that the first face of the twist-tie is facing upward. The glue applicator applies glue (e.g., sprays hot glue) downward onto the first face of the twist-tie as it is advanced onto the carrier.

  • Publication number: 20040016205
Abstract: A form-fill-and-seal (FFS) packaging machine is described wherein a zipper is attached to the package simultaneously with the sealing operation at the sealing and evacuation station. The attached zipper is thereafter welded in place at the zipper welding and cutting station. A zipper blank feeder and a channel-forming die with an impulse sealer are integrated into the sealing die of a packaging machine forming a combination work station. The zipper is installed at an existing work station and shares the existing lifting device. This enables the retrofitting of an FFS packaging machine to include a zipper attachment function without changing the footprint thereof. The combination work station forms a channel for the zipper blank between the thermoformed web and the lidstock. While the sealing die is providing a seal about the lid, the impulse sealer in the channel-forming die attaches the zipper to an initial attachment portion of the packaging film.

  • Patent number: 6665999
Abstract: A self-aligning zipper seal module adapted for quick change-out in a sealing carriage. The zipper seal module allows for a quick modification of a sealing carriage in order to accommodate different package dimensions. The module is stored and is installed in a closed and aligned position by use of an aligning handle. The module is easily installed or removed with a single tool and is designed to reduce the potential for operator injury by isolation from heat sources and by virtue of the aligning handle. The various seal facings of the module are oriented to equalize pressure on the facings during sealing and increase stripping efficiency. The zipper seal facings incorporate a novel insert design, thereby eliminating the need for stocking different sized facings to accommodate various bag widths. A return module of similar design is used to quickly return the sealing carriage to a standard configuration.
