Abstract: Proposed are a method and a device for consolidation of a number n of items, whose weight varies within predefined limits, in a container to a single unit with a predefined target weight. For this purpose, n-1 portions are combined and the weight of all of the n-1 portions is determined. Then the difference between the target weight of the n portions on the one hand and the weight of the n-1 portions on the other is determined. Ultimately, an nth portion with a precise weight is cut-off from a piece, where the weight equals the weight of the nth portion of the difference. For this purpose, the device is provided with a first and a second insertion station, a scale, a computer, and a portioning and cutting device.

Abstract: A shipping package for use in transportation of a temperature sensitive product. The shipping package includes layers of insulation and phase change material surrounding a payload cavity. The layers of insulation and phase change material are provided as separable panels. The panels may be inserted into an outer container in such manner that no insulation or phase change material are proximate to inner corners of the container. In one embodiment, the panels are provided in an overlapping relationship within the container so as to define corner discontinuities within the container.

Abstract: In a container carrier system and method for use in an automated process for filling containers of multiple sizes, pucks of various sizes are inserted into compartments of container pallets to allow containers of different sizes to be held in the compartments. A puck configuration subsystem can be used to configure each pallet to hold a desired combination of containers of two or more container sizes by inserting and removing pucks from the compartments. A pallet conveyor can be used to transport configured pallets from the puck configuration subsystem to the filling process and return empty pallets to the puck configuration subsystem for reconfiguration.

The container elements include means for retaining the container in a closed position such that the chamber formed thereby is relatively insulated. A sealing member may also be provided to cover said opening, which sealing member must be removed to provide access to the opening. Abstract: Generating a printstream in a computer that is preferably remote from the one or more inserter systems. Once generated, the printstream is transmitted preferably to a high speed, high volume, printer for producing the printed documents to be included in the mail pieces, such as billing statements. The printed documents are then delivered to the one or more inserter systems, which are to be used as the input sheets in the one or more inserter systems. The print stream is also provided to a workstation computer coupled to the one or more inserter systems. This workstation interpolates the printstream in order to generate a reprint database containing electronic files corresponding to each of the printed documents. Also coupled to the workstation is a local printer, which may be used to generate documents, for re-processing purposes, from data received from the reprint database.

Medical adhesives are useful as an alternate or an adjunct to surgical sutures and/or staples in wound closure, as well as for covering and protecting surface wounds such as lacerations, abrasions, burns, stomatitis, sores, minor cuts and scrapes, and other wounds. As such, the inclusion of such an adhesive into a composite medical procedure kit can be of great assistance to a medical doctor or surgeon by providing in single kit form, tools necessary to complete many medical procedures, without having to use multiple procedure kits. The adhesive may be independently sterilized and wrapped from the other surgical tools of the resultant kit, and then associated into kit form, or assembled and sterilized together as a unitary kit.
