Abstract: Trichloroethane, e.g., 1,1,1-trichloroethane, is stabilized with a stabilizing amount of a stable free radical stabilizer, e.g., a material having a 2,2,6,6-tetra (lower alkyl)-1-piperidinyloxy-yl free radical group such as 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-hydroxy-1-piperidinyloxy.
Abstract: A process and composition for stabilizing ar-brominated styrene polymer against polymerization which mixes an ar-brominated styrene monomer with a stabilizing amount of N,N-dialkylhydroxylamine to produce a stabilized monomer and novel stabilized compositions.
Abstract: Stabilized 1,1,1-trichloroethane compositions containing an epoxide compound such as epoxybutane, a nitro compound such as nitromethane, a furan compound such as 2-methylfuran, and methyl acetate. These compositions are suitable for the degreasing of metals and for the dry cleaning of textiles in the presence of an aqueous phase.
Abstract: Formation of solid and/or high boiling residues during the isomerization of one of 1,4-dichlorobutene-2 and 3,4-dichlorobutene-1 into each other in the presence of a cuprous chloride catalyst is inhibited by the addition to the isomerization reaction of a small amount of a hydroxylamine salt.

Abstract: The invention relates to compositions of chlorinated solvents such as 1,1,1-trichloroethane, stabilized by means of a heterocyclic compound containing oxaziridine units, such as 2-tert.-butyloxaziridine.
Abstract: A stabilized methylchloroform for use in vapor degreasing which is stable in the presence of metals which contains pyrazine, dimethoxypropane, an acetylenic alcohol and a nitroalkane or a methylfuran. Such combination prevents corrosion of aluminum, iron, copper and zinc and the decomposition of the solvent.
Abstract: Certain substituted succinic acid, e.g., sodium alkenyl succinate, and substituted imidazoline derivatives, e.g., (ethoxypropionic acid) imidazoline, provide corrosion resistance for tin-plated steel and solvent stability to aerosol formulations containing alcohol, methylene chloride and water, which employ a hydrocarbon as the propellant.
