Distributes Motive Fluid Between Plural Units, Stages Or Guides Patents (Class 60/348)
  • Patent number: 8336304
Abstract: Improvements in a transmission are provided for transferring power from a power source to a work unit. The pump transfers energy received from the power source into a fluid or gas. The first turbine is fixed to output shaft, and a plurality of additional turbines are fixed on either one-way overrunning clutches or multi-disc clutches and these clutches are fixed to the output shaft and after each turbine is a multi-valves that discharges the fluid or gas. After all of the multi-stage turbines a first planetary gear set connects the transmission to the vehicle or work unit. The second planetary gear set is located between the last turbine and the first planetary gear set. During braking the planetary gear set reverses turning direction of the turbines and convert the turbines into pumps where they will pump low pressure fluid to a high pressure accumulator.

  • Patent number: 8047766
Abstract: The invention relates to an electromechanical drive for actuating valves, especially in steam turbines including an electromotor, a linear unit, a clutch and an electronic control unit. The linear unit includes a piston rod which is guided in a power-transmission thread of a screw nut, and is arranged, at least in sections, as a spindle and is displaceable along its longitudinal axis for actuating the valve in the screw nut with the power-transmission thread. The clutch is arranged for transmitting a rotational movement of the motor axis of the electromotor onto the piston rod. The electronic control unit is set up to control the speed and/or rotor position of the motor axis of the electromotor depending on a control signal and an output signal of a position pick-up of the position of the piston rod in the screw nut with power-transmission thread, and/or to control the engagement and/or disengagement of the clutch depending on the control signal.

  • Patent number: 7647768
Abstract: An automatic transmission consisting of a housing to support multiple torque converters in series with each other. The housing is used to align the converters, direct the output of the first converter to the second and so on. The housing also provides paths for the fluid to enter and leave the converter and to operate the lock-up feature of each converter. The output of each torque converter turbine is fed to the next torque converter so that the next converter can further act on the ratio as needed until the final output is fed to a gear set to provide a reverse gear or locking mechanism.
