Having Structure For Controlling Depth Of Insertion Of Body Piercer Patents (Class 604/117)
  • Patent number: 10926044
Abstract: A pen needle assembly having a hub with an increased surface area that contacts a patient's skin is provided. The increased contact area of the hub with the patient's skin during injection of a cannula decreases the pressure exerted against the patient's skin, thereby increasing the comfort of the patient. A bonding adhesive is disposed on an outer surface of the hub, thereby decreasing the required curing time of the adhesive. Additionally, the increased contact area, between the cannula adhesive and hub increases the strength of the bond therebetween.

Abstract: An autoinjector device is disclosed which comprises a body portion and a syringe carrier, for supporting a syringe with a needle at its forward end. The syringe carrier is moveably mounted within the housing such that forward movement relative to the housing may extend the needle from a forward end of the body. The syringe carrier has a latch element arranged to cooperate with a corresponding retention feature of the body portion to releasably hold the syringe carrier in a rearward position within the body potion. A delivery mechanism is arranged to forwardly displace the syringe carrier relative to the housing and to deliver a dose of medicament from the syringe. A shroud assembly is provided at a forward end of the device. The shroud further comprises a locking arrangement which blocks releasing movement of the latch element from the retention feature when the shroud is in a first, forward position and is unlocked when the shroud is in a second, rearward position.

  • Patent number: 10201669
Abstract: A pen needle assembly having a hub with an increased surface area that contacts a patient's skin is provided. The increased contact area of the hub with the patient's skin during injection of a cannula decreases the pressure exerted against the patient's skin, thereby increasing the comfort of the patient. A bonding adhesive is disposed on an outer surface of the hub, thereby decreasing the required curing time of the adhesive. Additionally, the increased contact area, between the cannula adhesive and hub increases the strength of the bond therebetween.

  • Patent number: 10112979
Abstract: Influenza viruses have traditionally been administered by intramuscular injection. The invention is based on the idea of using alternative routes of delivery for influenza vaccines, more specifically routes that do not require as large a dose of antigen. Delivery of influenza antigen to the Langerhans cells is the route of choice according to the invention. This route has been found to be particularly useful for vaccinating patients who are naïve to influenza virus (i.e. have not previously mounted an immune response to an influenza virus), which means that it is advantageous for immunising young children.

  • Patent number: 10065016
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein that generally involve CED devices with various features for reducing or preventing backflow. In some embodiments, CED devices include a tissue-receiving space disposed proximal to a distal fluid outlet. Tissue can be compressed into or pinched/pinned by the tissue-receiving space as the device is inserted into a target region of a patient, thereby forming a seal that reduces or prevents proximal backflow of fluid ejected from the outlet beyond the tissue-receiving space. In some embodiments, CED devices include a bullet-shaped nose proximal to a distal fluid outlet. The bullet-shaped nose forms a good seal with surrounding tissue and helps reduce or prevent backflow of infused fluid.
