  • Patent number: 5245721
Abstract: A combination tool comprising multiple tool functions having swingable handles with shoulders formed integrally with the handles for alternately engaging two connected pairs of jaw elements. The jaw elements are biased open to a specific angular relation. Swinging the handles to engage a first pair of jaws allows the other pair of jaws to be used. Retaining means allow the jaw elements to be clamped closed against the force of the biasing means and held against one of the handles. This allows a tool included in the other handle to be more conveniently used and secures the jaws for storage of the tool. In one embodiment, the jaws comprise standard plier jaws, long nose plier jaws, a pipe grip, wire cutter, wire crimpers, and wire strippers and one handle includes a socket driver and scale and the other handle includes a storage compartment.

  • Patent number: 5224230
Abstract: A standard attachment temporarily converts a drywall screw gun into a drywall router-bit cutter. Adapters unique to particular brands of screw guns may be employed to allow the standard attachment to be mounted on guns of the different brands. The attachment effects a twenty-times speed-up of the screw gun screwdriver RPMs to achieve required router-bit RPMs, while depressing a special function of the screw gun. Snap rings and snug slidable fittings are utilized to effect quick attachment/detachment. A belt clip on the attachment facilitates maintaining the attachment readily accessible. In an alternate attachment form, an external portion of the housing is substituted to allow the attachment to be mounted on guns of different brands. Different types of the attachment forms allow mounting on guns which may or may not have their depth control mechanism adjustable sleeves readily removed.

  • Patent number: 5222848
Abstract: The present invention relates to a multi-functional drill and lock assembly comprising a drill cylinder, a drill pillar and a drill head. A convex tenon at the front end of the drill pillar is adapted to pierce through and sleeve with a guiding groove formed in the lock cylinder. By adjusting the position of the tenon within the guiding groove, a drill head secured to the front end of the drill pillar can be shifted so as to extend beyond or retract within the lock cylinder. The front end of the drill cylinder is formed with a screw locking hole to enable the tool to perform a dual-function. The drill head is removably secured to the drill pillar by a steel shot extending from the lock cylinder, through the drill pillar and into a shot groove formed as part of the drill head.
