Abstract: A strait jacket is disclosed, which is adapted to fit wearers of more than one clothing size. The strait jacket has a jacket torso body comprising at least two panels, each panel terminating at a lower edge located adjacent to but below the wearer's underarms. Sleeves extend from the torso body to distal ends, and each sleeve has a length greater than the length of the wearer's arms. The distal end of each sleeve includes a fastening device to permit the sleeve to be fastened to the opposite sleeve and to a belt by suitable fasteners at a position behind the wearer's back. An annular jacket collar is located above the jacket torso body, and a strap extends downwardly from the collar. In one embodiment of the invention, the strap extends under the wearer's crotch. A belt strap is adapted to be secured about the wearer's mid rib cage and is further adapted to be attached to the chest strap at a posterior position; and, if desired, at an anterior position.

  • Patent number: 8336345
Abstract: A remote lock mechanism for a handcuff allows the unlocking of the handcuff by insertion of the key in the remote lock mechanism. The remote lock mechanism is located adjacent the pivot connecting the movable jaw of the handcuff to the fixed jaw and, thus, can be operated when the handcuffs are used to restrain a person without the officer's hands being placed between the wrists of the person being restrained. The motion corresponding to the rotation of the key in the remote lock mechanism is transferred to the handcuff lock mechanism to retract the ratchet pawl away from the movable jaw of the handcuff. In one embodiment, the remote lock mechanism utilizes a tumbler that causes opposing rotation of the conventional lock mechanism to first release the double lock mechanism and then retract the ratchet pawl with opposing rotations of the key in the remote lock mechanism.

  • Patent number: 7650768
Abstract: A bottle security device includes a housing with an electronic surveillance article tag therein and a ratchet strap which extends from the housing and loops around the bottle neck to secure the device thereto. The strap has one-way locking teeth which are lockably engaged by a locking mechanism in the housing when the strap is inserted therein to secure the strap in a locked position. The housing has first and second opposed outer surfaces which taper radially outwardly and toward one another in a manner which makes the housing difficult to grasp manually or otherwise, thus helping prevent the breakage and removal of the device from the bottle. The tapered outer surfaces also serve to deflect impact forces to the housing to help prevent unauthorized removal of the device. An arcuate channel of the housing receives and aligns the strap for improved locking capability.

Abstract: The invention is a bicycle frame having an integrated bicycle locking mechanism. Roughly mid-length of a tube of the bicycle frame is removed in order to accommodate the locking mechanism. Secured within one of the exposed ends of the frame is a flexible wire that can emerge and lock itself to a locking receptacle located on the other open end of the frame. Located on the exposed end of the flexible linkage is the locking mechanism. The invention is designed so as to enable the flexible wire to wrap around a stationary object, such as a pole or bicycle stand. Alternatively, the flexible wire can wrap around the rear wheel of the bicycle so as to prevent the bicycle from being used.

Abstract: Restraint devices which have a first bracelet, a second bracelet, and a central holder. In one embodiment, the central holder contains a one-way locking mechanism and a retraction/extension mechanism. In a second embodiment, the central holder comprises a retraction/extension mechanism. One end of a line is attached to the second bracelet and the other end of the line is attached to the retraction/extension mechanism, which urges the second bracelet toward the central holder. When the first bracelet is open, the line may be extended from the central holder or retracted to the central holder. When the first bracelet is closed, the retraction/extension mechanism is engaged, causing the one way locking mechanism/one way clutch to allow retraction of the bracelet toward the central holder, but to prevent extension of the bracelet away from the central holder. A line stopper is disclosed which connects with the line between the retraction/extension mechanism and the second bracelet.
