Rotary Or Swinging Patents (Class 70/209)
  • Patent number: 4930325
Abstract: A pivot lever bar closure in the fillet gap of sheet metal cabinet doors. This bar closure is provided with a cylinder lock that is installed into two identical rectangular apertures. The bar closure consists of a lock case and cylinder lock. The lock case has a pivot lever actuating device that is led through the door panel to the outside. This pivot lever drives one or more bar closures of flat strip material that extends parallel to the door edge of the fillet gap. The cylinder lock holds the pivot lever firm in its hinged-in position. The pivot lever closure comprises a base plate forming the receiving trough for the pivot lever which connects the closure with the door panel.

  • Patent number: 4876867
Abstract: A door lock for placement on a door handle having a knob with a front face having a keyhole therein. The door lock comprises a tubular casing substantially closed at one end by an end wall member and open at its other end for enabling the casing to be placed on the handle in a position wherein the knob is disposed in the casing with its front face adjacent the end wall member. The tubular casing has an inside radial dimension sufficient to permit the casing to rotate freely on the knob. A locking lever is pivotably connected to the casing generally adjacent its open end to permit the lever to swing between a non-obstructing position wherein the casing may be placed on the door handle and removed from the door handle, and an obstructing position wherein the lever obstructs the open end of the casing and is engageable by the knob when the casing is on the handle for preventing the casing from being pulled off the handle.

  • Patent number: 4829797
Abstract: This automotive steering wheel lock is made up of a rod and a cartridge connected with the rod. The cartridge consists of an upper half cartridge and a lower half cartridge that capture hold of the steering wheel between them and are locked with a lock cylinder and a lock base set separately in the two half cartridges when said half cartridges are closed together. To open the lock, a key is inserted and turned in the keyhole of the lock cylinder. The bottom of the rod can be blocked by the driver's seat or something inside the car or by a thief's body making it difficult to handle the steering wheel, even if the steering wheel should be turned around with the lock locked in an attempt to steal the car.

  • Patent number: 4765163
Abstract: The front half of the knob shell and the cylinder are removable from the rest of the lockset without special skill or tools so that cylinder may be replaced or rekeyed. A radial retainer pin in the cylinder assembly extends outward into the lockset shank to hold the cylinder in place. When key is turned counterclockwise, the retainer pin may be depressed inward into a radial recess in the cylinder plug so that cylinder and knob front can be removed from the lockset. • Patent number: 4750341
Abstract: A vehicle anti-theft device attachable to a steering wheel. The device is in the form of a wheel-like member having an inner disposed bight defining a space for admitting a rim of the steering wheel, the open portion of the bight having at least one pair of opposed slots for admitting a free end of a lock bar which is lockable by a lock. The device extends the size of the steering wheel along the radial and tangential directions, thereby increasing the size of the steering wheel, which will encounter obstacles with respect to the vehicle structure and the occupant attempting to rotate the steering wheel. In one embodiment, the device includes an elongated bight member having two pairs of opposed slots which are traversed by a U-shaped saddle member passing through the slots and defining a locking space about the rim of the wheel. A lock is associated with the saddle member for maintaining the saddle member in an engaged position with the bight member.

  • Patent number: 4561273
Abstract: A doorknob security apparatus (10) includes an upper housing (14) and a lower housing (16) which cooperate to form a cylindrical member. Hinge parts (24) and (26) are disposed on one edge of the halves and a locking member (20) is disposed on the other side to secure the two halves together. A cover (18) is mounted in annular grooves (28) and (30) on the periphery of the two halves (14) and (16). Semi-annular rings (32) and (38) are disposed on the interior of the housings (14) and (16) to form spaces (34) and (40) while receiving the gripping portion of the doorknob. An orifice is formed with the semi-annular rings to fit about the stem of the doorknob with a diameter less than gripping portion of the doorknob to prevent removal of the apparatus (10) from the doorknob. Reinforcing portions (44) and (46) increase the structural integrity of the semi-annular members (32) and (38).

  • Patent number: 4527680
Abstract: A locking device for a manually movable wheeled storage rack is described, which storage rack is provided with a manually operated rotatable handwheel, and power transmission mechanism for transmitting the rotational power imparted to the rotatable handwheel to drive wheels, thus causing the storage rack to be moved. The locking device is movable forward and backward in the axial direction thereof by manual operation at the rotatable center section of the rotatable handwheel. This locking device is capable of restricting the action of the power transmission mechanism, rendering the transmission of the motive force impossible, thus making the storage rack incapable of motion. This device can subsequently be released, thus rendering the movable rack once again capable of motion.
